Well time to get my dirty, whinny OEM pads out and put in some new ones. Picked up some Porterfield R4-S pads at the recommendation of a friend.
Anyone have/know of a detailed how-to for replacing all pads? I have the service manual, and maybe that has the info I need but I haven't looked...
Not to be the only one posting BUT... saw a 2002 dark gray RT/10 on Treat Blvd in Concord yesterday heading towards the freeway. Had the top on. I was in my ACR, but couldn't see if the guy noticed me, I was going the opposite direction.
Welcome! Yellow/black is my second favorite combo (to red/silver of course). I've had my 02 ACR for three months now, and the more I drive it the more fun it gets. I started out pretty conservative with the car and let myself get more and more comfortable with it before I started pushing it...
Wow, some great pics. Thanks for throwing in a shot of the R8 too, those are great looking cars... it would have been a perfect pic if it weren't for the Vette in the background :(
Was driving home from my folks place and saw a black RT/10 going north on highway 99 near Sacramento. Pretty sure it was a Gen 1, but I didn't get a good enough look to tell for sure. Didn't recognize the driver, but most of the VCA members I know are Bay Area. This was Monday around 11am.
I remove my air box when doing the plugs, it definitely does help. Now when it comes to reaching back to the coil packs for the last couple cylinder wires, nothing but creating a new joint in my forearm helped :crazy2:
That's pretty damn funny and definitely original. Honestly I think it's really good... I'm still waiting for "OH MFG" to be approved... fingers crossed. In case anyone is wondering, it stands for "Ohio Mega Finance Group."
.... or "oh my f*****g god"
<- crossing fingers :)
I just changed mine on my 2002 ACR a couple months back. Here's what I did, and had no problems. I'm pretty sure I changed the plugs when the engine was cold to avoid any stretching issues with the treads.
1. Pull the wires out one by one so you don't lose the ordering (very important).
2...
Which month Car and Driver? I just got mine a couple days ago and didn't see a Viper article... just the new M3 and '08 base Vette (tested 0-60 in 4.0 btw) all over it.
Congrats on the new Viper! I've had mine for almost three months and I can't help but to drive it almost every day (and fill it up almost every day :( ). Vipers are so rare, the attention they gets are unreal. I think also the fact that it's an American car puts a lot of smiles on people's...
Wow, after seeing those pics, it's hard to believe anyone could have survived. Both Nick and his friend are very lucky, although it sounds like Nick more so at the moment. Best wishes to both and their families.
Thanks so much for the info guys, exactly what I was looking for. Someone should put this information together and get it posted into the how-to section... I would, but I should wait until I've actually done the work at least once.
I'm really interested in this info as well. Not so much adjusting the stiffness, rather lowering it a bit. Some explained it to me once and said it's pretty easy with the ACR suspension, I just forgot pretty much everything he said :dunno:
I have the 2002 service manual, but there's hardly a...
Oddly enough, when I bought my '02 used it didn't have an owner's manual but it did have the operating tips VHS new in the shrink wrap (lucky me). Been meaning to watch it but I have yet to get motivated enough to dust off the old VCR.
You will definitely need to post some pics if you put one on the hood of your 300M heheh.
The Q&A is priceless... "How much horse power will it add?" :dunno:
Just ran across this eBay auction. I can only imagine how good it would look on my Viper :rolaugh:

Hey, sometimes I do a quick search on Flickr for Viper pics and saw this:

Is that you guys? Looks like a great time, some amazing cars!
Well said :headbang:
I see this black SRT/10 Coupe on the road pretty regularly and from the front I almost always mistake it for a Z06. Only from the front though, the rest of the car definitely follows the classic Viper lines. That guy really needs to wash it by the way, I think it's his...
Exactly, color only matters in temperature when you're talking about light absorption... in a dark engine compartment the only factor in temperature is the physical material the tubes are made of, nothing to do with color.
... and yes, red is always faster.
