I had a body shop expand it's margin by repairing curb rash scrapes on my driver's side sill instead of replacing it. Since the work was already done and the sill looked great, I let it go but wonder if I will have issues down the road.
I was told recently by a small engine mechanic that it is best to change the oil when it is hot. He told me that hot oil that is stirred up prevents contaminents from settling in the pan and not drain out. The hot oil holds the dirt in suspension. How true is this?
Anything I would say about those prices the moderators would rightfully delete.:nono: Moral of the story, Get the ACR first because it is still a better overall bang for buck than anything from Europe or Japan especially if you are serious about racing it. Long live American Muscle.:usa:
I agree that it would have been cheaper to buy an ACR first and I know that there is an aero pkg that is different from the ARC components. I just was suggesting to Aspirations that if dealers tried to give him a big depreciation hit on his 100 mile trade in as well as pay huge taxes on another...
Couldn't you just get sidewinders with PS2's, upgrade the shocks and get the aero to make a SSG ACR clone? It would probably be cheaper than buying another car and selling this one.
To mod or not is actually the main factor in choosing an 06 or an 08 IMHO because bone stock vs bone stock the 08 wins hands down even with the price difference.
A local dealership was in the paper today. Owner discussed how interest rates on him are increasing and hurting his margins. He takes out loans to fill the lot with new cars among other things so there is an incentive to have as few cars on loan as possible. I assume this is happening around the...
I do the opposite. I changed my oil after storage. I pushed it out of the garage and jacked it up. The reason is that the old oil has had months to leak to the oil pan and I got the best possible drain. Also there is no point in letting new oil sit in the pan for months getting mixed with...
I admit it was challenging at first keeping my black Viper clean. I have learned that there is no reason to drive it in the rain since that simply trashes it. I try to detail it as little as possible since every time I touch it, I risk swirl marks. I only use new clean microfibre or hide...
Bat, In less than 4 years you have gone from a 350z to a black Viper GTS, to a black Viper Coupe, to the blue/white Coupe, and now to a GT-R. Just curious but do you lease your cars for a year at a time or buy them and trade in? I respect that it's your business what you do but it appears to me...
It doesn't look like Chad's car at all until there is a girl posing with it. Then it will seem normal. In all seriousness, I like the car with either set of rims.
Assuming excellent condition when seen in person that is a great deal for a 17k mile black 1994 with fresh rubber. You could almost parts it out for more. 25k buys a top of the line Hyundai and I think we all know which will last longer and be cool forever. Buy it and drive it till 100k+...
Seems like a hell of a deal. In a better economy it would have sold the same day but with multiple banks failing now, the latest 2 today, credit is drying up. May I ask what business you are starting?
I am leary of taking the old tires off to reuse them on new wheels. The process is rough and might damage the tires. I would look in the VCA classifieds and you can find wheels with tires for a fraction of new that you could just put on and easily switch back if needed. I got curb rash on a rim...
That is exactly what happened to me when I first got my Viper. Wife first tried to sell the house for an upgrade which was an agonizing process but that fell through. Then we comprimised and had the kitchen and house renovated. Marriage is a good thing but definitly a challenge as well.
See thread "What do you do for a living?" from 1-2 years ago. Personally I am a UPS driver. It started out as a college job and after graduation the local job market was poor. Started up at Xerox as a full time temp for 1.5 yrs while I was still part time at UPS for another 25 hrs/week. Used...
LMAO!!! Priceless picture. I read today that the people of Alaska refused the application for Exxon to drill a large new oil patch. I guess they prefer to fund the Middle East. Treehuggers all over the US fight against drilling for natural gas that is pretty clean burning.

I bought a 2000 Rt/10 specifically because it is the last year without ABS so I don't have to deal with any of that wheel sensor nonsense and extra weight either. I will eventually buy a second...
1) The only thing that adding nannie tech will do with absolute certainty is add weight and increase the price of new Vipers.
2) Vipers would win more races if restrictor plates were removed.
3) Dodge would sell more Vipers if they actually put them in a commercial once in a while.
4) If you...
The smartest decision Cerberus has made since it bought Chrysler is to keep Tator's open. It is Horrible that the timing was at the delivery point of the 2008 Gen IV. Here's to many more years to come.
