Pulling into driveways at an angle helps reduce fascia scraping. Staying well behind cars in front of you will reduce rock chips. Planning your route to avoid puddles, potholes, and gravel is now your reality. If you find yourself around the Viper up to hours at a time, you heve been bit...
I agree with previous posts that the difference is in the wheels and tires. The stock run flats are heavier. Combine that with the heavier 19 inch rims and the gear ratios are also effected. Put 18 inch drag radials and the Gen III should be able to use the 50 extra hp to win.
Then...
I am willing to sacrifice a small amount of aerodynamic characteristics for better styling. If we let the windtunnel design all cars, they would be way too similar in appearence and finding your car in a parking lot would be near impossible.
I still have that C&D issue and it still is noe of my favorite all time Vipers. If I was in position to buy now I would. I would remove most of the bling and silver colored parts and leave on the fascia. (leave them in a box somewhere to verivy the car Ha Ha) The article said $30k was...
Glad to hear there that he paid up. I love how he tried to deny it even with proof. I am surprized you agreed to let him pay you instead of take to insurance after reading about other bad experiences on this forum. How long were you willing to wait till he paid til insurance and cops were...
I am guessing you have a 1996 RT/10 with the white/ blue stripes. Nice looking color combo. I get this insane laugh whenever I feel the acceleration and every now and then when look in the garage. No I am not ashamed but proud of my mental state.
Around here, other Vipers are very rare so I am glad to see any cool rides and wave.
I was driving in the Viper back to home and there was a new looking black Ferarri with people around it in a driveway. I wanted to stop and talk but thought it would have been awkward to intrude.
Good to see you are doing your homework. The Buyers Guide is awesome. If you get a 2000 or newer, there may be a transferrible extended warranty on it still. (mine ends this October) Ask for a title search using the vin num to get history before you buy. Best of luck.
Amazing that somebody paid well over $70k for a new car and only drove it 3740 miles. You got a great deal taking that into consideration assuming car was well maintained.
As far as the 1997 B/W, another great deal considering they are currently at the bottom of their value now, only...
DITTO again. There isn't a month that goes by on the VCA website that doesn't have a horror story of a mechanic, valet, or whomever wrecking a Viper. My inspection is up and I will stay at the garage and do all the driving or go somewhere else. :nono:
Re: I can\'t beleive it !!!
I am intensley frustrated here. Had the Viper on road for couple weeks and the roads were clear of salt from -lots- of rain. It snows again and the salt trucks put a fresh thick layer on. :evilmad:

The Traction Control on a C5 is on automatically and there is a button to turn it off. I haven't heard of lawsuits so far.
I plan on keeping my 2000 Viper because it is the last year without ABS or any other nanny. I...
At least a Kerkorkian purchase would bring Chrysler back to American hands. His involvement in GM as a very vocal board member gives him some experience in the running of an auto company. He is 89 years old now and his health is my only concern.
Chad, Thanks for the updates and warning about this loser you did business with and I am glad you can get them fixed. I am eager to see pics of the wheels after they are repaired later in this thread. I have 2 extra wheels that also have curb rash (self inflicted) and am deciding to repair...
==============================================================================
1999 is the last Viper with forged pistons which is good mostly if you want to mod it with power adders. 2000 is the first year with hypereutectic cast pistons. 2001 is the 1st year for ABS brakes. Those are the...
I also went from a 1995 Mustang GT vert to a Viper. No comparison as the Viper is lighter and unbelievibly quicker than the Mustang. Take baby steps in learning to feather the throttle especially around corners and through the first 3 gears. Get the VIN number of a Viper before you go look...
There was plenty of rain yesterday to clean the roads and 60's with sun today got me back on the road also. Not a moment too soon if I might add since a drive is just what the doctor ordered.
