Sorry about your misfortune. Horrible thing to happen at X-Mas. I was devastated when I hit a mailbox after a mis-shift but in the end all was made almost as good as new. Best of luck on getting back on the road asap!
I have seen it for sale in Dupont Registry if im not mistaken this year. I also heard the place where Apex was is empty now. I am also a fan of that car but only for the engine and performance mods. The body kit is not my taste and the gaming console in it was a ricey add on.
The Viper last year won the standing mile contest but broke at PGD. I think standing mile events should start getting telivised personally. So far I have only seen mag pics of wheels spinning after 100 mph. Those same cars do poor in 1/4 mile because of traction issues.
The bottom value of any Viper is associated to the value of it's parts if in decent condition for that year. Original hoods and sidesills for example will always hold value almost regardless of miles. Solid V10 engines will always hold value since even if a rebuild is necessary.
Got my 2000 RT/10 2 years ago at age 32. On the 17th I will turn 35.
In the end death will win but I will win a few battles along the way and go down fighting.
What is the bottom value of a nonwrecked Viper of any mileage? I find it hard to imagine a high mileage Gen I Viper ever selling for less than $20k due to the value of it's parts and exclusivity.
If I had the extra cash for a second Viper, I would buy a new convertible today. Best price you will ever see on a brand new factoy warranted V-10 powered 510 hp 530ft/lb car. There is no guarantee that the Viper will continue past 2010.
5 years ago I spent $250 for a day with a yellow 1995 Viper. Terms were same as you mentioned. It was well worth it (at that price anyway) for me to get a feel for what it was like to have one without a salesman or owner right with me. I didn't beat on it but did a careful spirited ride...

All I have to say with regards to all that is the word "proposed" in the first sentence. It is not something actually passed yet. If GM and Ford want to implement extra nannytech on all their cars then so be it...
Sorry about your misfortune. You are taking it better than most would. I would file full claim with insurance just in case whole hood is cracked or other things are busted. Did you get a police report? Hood hinges may be bent and check radiator overflow reservoir for cracks or puncture...
My father lives in Richmond , VT. and every time I visit I am in awe of the beauty. On the way home to Rochester, I take route 8 through the Adirondaks to catch the thruway in Utica. Long, steep inclines and declines that will make your ears pop as you gaze at the scenery.
