Great post. If I had the extra cash now I would be taking advantage of the awesome deals myself. I took a couple drives this week and loved every minute. It is funny that the few people that mentioned the Z06 to me being faster did not even own a supercar of their own. I never plan to sell...

That statement from Santo, a Canadian no less, shows that he gets what the Viper is all about. I hereby make a motion to grant Santo dual citizenship.
First Viper I drove was a yellow 1995 and pic is in my small gallery. Had the time of my life especially since it was in Vegas.
Congrats and enjoy! :2tu:
Congrats Wayne, you have done what has been overdue. Did you start with a Competition Coupe and make it legal? If so, how much weight was added? How did you create a vin #?
I am glad you are relatively close because it alone looks worth the trip on the QEW to see in person. WOW. :eek...

IMHO, the Gen III styling is awesome but was too removed from the Gen I and II design and without the badging they could be 2 seperate cars. The Concept GTSR and later Comp Coupe aren't as much similar to the Gen II...
Re: Think SRT\'s Are Not Holding Their Value?? Look At This
There is a reason for this. The only thing that they are designed for is luxury and not necessarily performance. Luxury cars will depreciate quicker because after the first couple of years they become obsolete when compared to the...
Unlike Chuck, I am a poser but still a purist. I do not race on the track (yet). What appeals to me about the Viper is that the racing versions have to be given the biggest restrictor plates to make them equal to the other cars and they still win often. Not only the engine is a winner but...
Be careful shifting when cornering as well. Lateral G's make precise shifting more difficult because it becomes instinctual to hold on to the shifter to stabilize yourself at the same time as shift. I will try that thumb down technique.
Ask if the warranty is transferrable. Then you could negotiate a low offer for the Viper saying it has problems that will take time to fix. Then once you own it have it fixed under warranty for free. Rebuilt Arrow engines are rumored to run stronger than stock. Won't lower value.
I am polite and try to get along with ricers and the like. At least they are still car guys. At the gym a couple weeks ago this guy asked me if I was the one that had the Viper. He said he had an Evo. He eventually said he modded the car and he could beat me. I just said OK and then...
The sad thing is that if he is caught then he will get too short of a prison sentence being a white collar criminal especially since he ruined people's financial lives.
I would not object to nannie aids so much if they were reliable and did not fail. They are all just added electronic computer garbage that will break down regularly.
Anybody wanting nannie aids does not need a Corvette as much as public transportation.
I was under the impression that run flats do not look flat enough when they are flat so that is why the sensors were put on. On my C5, the psi is shown for each tire. Cool feature since I had no idea that some gas stations have their psi set to 60.
I have heard that run flats have a...
Re: Extended warranty\'s??? other then MaxCare
My warranty expires in 1 yr. I plan to take it to Tator's to have him look it over and change all fluids before exiration incase anything bad shows itself. May also have minor tweaks done.
I must say that is the baddest Gen III vert I have seen. I love how the Coupe rear end looks on a vert. I can see the Competition Coupe inspiration also. Very original and reflects the true nature of the Viper. :2tu: Let's all hope that it doesn't entirely steal the show from...
Give me a real rollbar before TC. My friend with modded 04 Z06 had trouble with his throttle by wire or something computer/sensor related on the expressway yesterday. Couldn't get it above 20 mph at all. Those are problems not found when there is a real throttle cable.
RIP to person and...
I was told that it was actually more common in Gen III Vipers. IMHO, this should have been a factory recall and updated engines should be keyed or pinned at the factory. I have been told that if any damper comes off when going fast that it could go through the hood or roll off and hit something.
In the long run, whatever interior is in it will mostly depend on condition of the leather for resale. When I am done with my Viper 70 years from now, the cognac leather will be worn out in the seat, steering wheel, and shifterknob. There also may be some pee stains as a result of my driving...
You can not compare dealer prices to private owner pricing. Dealers have to "doll up the car" and often work on the car for it to pass inspection and at the very least cover the lemon law if failure after sale happens. As for private owner pricing, that is really more of a horse trade...
I am jealous of owners that do not have winter. It is actually possible to own nothing but sports cars there. Don't let go of that beautiful ACR. Copperhead is a very good choice for an SRT 10. Congrats.
