Now is the best time of the year to buy. Fall prices are the lowest and combined with the continuing recession you are seeing the best time ever to get a Viper. Even used Gen IV Vipers are getting into low 60's.
Lemke definitly did an awesome job on the street serpent. His survey of having people see one Viper from each generation and always picking the Gen II as their favorite was interesting even if it wasn't entirely statistically correct.
In these tough economic times, the stripmall had a good thing going. Car people are very different from nuisance tween mall rats. They were paying patrons of the mall.
I think you are right Austin... His dad and brother probably refused to co-sign for him. :nono:
Cop Magnet.... It was awesome that you posted his girlfriend's pics along with commentary after he invited us to. :lmao:What kind of person brags about his gf when asking advice about buying...
Unless you plan on flipping it in the next week, don't worry about the depreciation because it will hit you no matter what when you plan on selling it. I am sure millions of people would love to drive an 08 Viper 1150 miles including myself.
If the stock rims still have the runflats, I would splurge and buy the rims on the car or change to PS2's on the stockers if you are concerned about ride quality. Congrats.
Congrats on your Viper. I look foward to updates on your first impressions of ownership. As you are just starting to drive it, today I made my final cruise of the season before winter hibernation.
:needpics:
That is an amazing deal assuming car checks out. I would have absolutley no buyers remorse after handing over the cash. Have fun on the ride home. :drive:
"Wanted" set the stock Viper 1/4 mile record in his 2000 RT/10 that lasted pretty much until the Gen IV came out. The front brakes are prone to lock in emergencies but they still work better than most other cars on the road. My harmonic damper fell off and had to be replaced and pinned to...
The AC Cobra held the 0-100-0 production car record for at least 10yrs. Always was and still is an awesome hardcore supercar. the Viper came out and gave the same asp kicking to the exotics and LeMans as the Cobra did in the past. The difference with the Viper is that the competition is...
There is a red aero coupe with less than 1k miles for around $74k at a dealer on autotrader if you want a price reference. Sounds like a great deal for mid 60's.
Your Viper still looks pretty raw and mean to me. It is because of the durability and simplicity of the Viper from the beginning that makes it a success story. I am a poser compared to you Tom since I don't even drive in the rain. (It's a black car thing)
It scares me that somebody that isn't a police officer would follow me and videotape it. After a long enough time of following somebody close enough, road rage could encourage the person being followed by an unknown creep to lose them or the wrong person would pull a gun on them. I firmly...
I wish them the best of health and long life to enjoy their heaven on earth. This proves that there is nothing more exciting to buy than a sportscar and especially Vipers.
For me it will be a very good deal also. 2000 RT/10 bought in 2004 for $49k. It will be sold the day I die for whatever. :rip:I was 32 when I bought it and hope to live to at least 85. My costs will be less than $100/mth and my wife will still be able to get something for it.
The costs of the clamshell are not near the costs of parts on many of the European exotics with similar production levels. The Gen I and II clamshell hood perfectly accentuates the side engine vents where on the 1989 concept Viper the exaust headers bulged out. I only wish that they made the...
