The weatherstrip is rather rigid and actually extends down into the door several inches. No matter how many different adhesives/epoxy/clamps I used, the first time I would roll up the window it seemed to torque the strip and break it free again. Probably one of the most frustrating car problems...
You have to replace the whole unit, which was ~$500 last time I checked. There are threads about using adhesives to fix it, but I tried everything under the sun and never could get it to work. I finally got one off a wreck I was helping part out. I would call one of the Viper salvage places.
Jesus. How often is the oil getting changed in these cars? Unless that frame recall was done in the last two years, that car was way overdue for an oil change.
^^^^That tacky plastic chrome stick on dealer nameplate is graphic illustration of the difficulty SRT faces with some dealers. Call them what you like but they are the same polyesther clad minivan hucksters that they were before they bought the SRT name.
Yup, that's the one. Works perfectly. I'm not sure I would use that toggle switch. The momentary push button on the shifter is really convenient and intuitive.
I have a GTS with a Roe supercharger and I wouldn't trade it for any more modern sports car. The raw brutality of the original Viper is what I like. Rest assured that it is still as much fun as it was in 2000. Your question is akin to asking if driving a 427 Cobra is as much fun as it was 15...
Unfortunately the shift light was on the car when I got it from the original owner, so I wasn't privy to the details of the selection and installation. I do recall that when I was contemplating changing shift lights, I came across something somewhere that gave the details of why this light works...
Just proves that you can call them SRT dealers but most of them are the same polyester Sansabelt wearing minivan hucksters that we all know and loathe.
Are we talking about 20% of $59?? You are really that tweaked over $11.80?
I tell you what. I'll pay the $11.80 if I don't have to read any more whining in this thread. It's like being stuck in the grocery line behind some old woman complaining that her 15% cat food coupon has expired.
