ACRs With Koni\'s (99\'s early 00\'s) - Road Race Settings Anyone?
I've tried the settings recommended in the Spring 99 Viper Quarterly but felt my car's performance was less than optimal. Any Koni equipped ACR Track Rats with advice? All input is appreciated. Thanks .......
I simply couldn't live without stripes. Had mine painted by East Coast Performance (Snake Pit Racing) in West Orange, NJ. Absolutely fantastic job.
Vinyl stripes on a Viper? Whatever!
Tom is correct. Petroleum refiners blend detergent additives into all grades of fuel. However, regular grades typically contain "keep clean" levels while premium grades contain "clean up" levels. The latter essentially serving to clean up fouled injectors over time.
MOTOMIKE is correct. The PA/WV Club is more show/social event oriented vs. some other clubs. I joined the NJ Club as they tend to gravitate a bit more towards racing. I've been road racing at Pocono a few times and attended the annual Englishtown event as well. This is not at all a criticism...
All of the above bantering is fun, but IMO, a car (not even a Viper) should interfere with or influence matters of the heart. Take it from one who knows, I'd give anything to undo the mistakes I've made.
One of the greatest phrases I ever heard came from Craig Breedlove who was visibly shaken...
Last year I carried about 105 mph through the bowl and easily hit 150 on the back straight. Others were going somewhat faster but had higher speeds in the bowl. I just wasn't comfortable going any faster. At the end of the day, I want to turn on the AC/stereo and cruise home. No need to push...
Re: Why, oh Why, did I decide to wait for an \'03?!
I'm an GTS/ACR guy all the way so 02 or 03 is virtually meaningless to me. Where is that support group meeting at?
I would never refuse a photo request, even allowing someone to be photographed behind the wheel. I also carry several laminated color photos of my car on the track (my avitar) which I give to youngsters that have that special twinkle in their eye. I was asked to sign one that I gave to a...
Want a significant power gain, much better sound, less heat in the side sills? Do it right - headers to tail pipe tips. Lose the cats if possible. Avoid systems that precipitate a CE light.
Re: GTS or RT/10... it\'s so hard to pick!
Wow, I'm surprized at the weigh-in here; wildly in favor of the RT-10. For my money, the GTS/ACR is the only way to go. I prefer the styling and comfort the GTS affords. If you plan on tracking the car, the ACR is an attractive option. Maybe if I...
Re: What are must have MOD\'s on 01 GTS ACR
1 - Short throw shifter.
2 - Headers and full 3" exhaust (w/wo cats). John B. is totally right about the ce light. I got it and it displeases me greatly. Most, maybe all, sellers and manufacturers don't address it at all during the sales cycle.
3 -...
Lot's of valid points above. My POV is for street and light to moderate track use, the ACR is a real bargain. The wheels are awesome, the five points are essential and look great, and the car handles like it's on rails. I have a 99 mind you so I'm still dealing with the Koni shock rattle...
I had the same problem after installing a complete Belanger header/exhaust system. I solved the problem but loosening the motor mounts (the bolts on the frame side, not the engine side) and rotating the engine in the bay a few degrees. After loosening the mount, simply jack one side of engine...
