My suggestion would be either a very good plug, say an iridium but they are pricey (12-15$ per plug), or auto-lite platinum 1 step colder. The iridium you can probably get about 3-4k out of if your using the nitrous alot, the auto-lite about 1-2k at most.
FastMatt,
Not really looking for an argument with you here, but I can assure you a stock viper with a borla and no cats does sound almost identical to that just without the big lope.
Funny thing is a stock viper with borla exhaust and no cats sounds almost identical to that. Problem is people never find out cause they are all too afraid of their car sounding like it looks.
Re: Gauging Interest on Gen 2 Rear Diffusor Blades
Surprised no one is mentioning the autoform splitter on here looks like Dave has already seen it cause his design seems to be a copy of it...
The rims are the exact same size far as width goes from gen 1 to gen 4, only thing that kept changing was the bling factor for all the people that enjoy 80lb of rotating mass instead of real wheels and tires.
Even if your car had forged pistons results would be the same, your water meth was obviously the only thing keeping your motor in 1 piece.
Leave the compression stock, lowering it for low boost is pointless. And tbh low compression is kinda old school with modern engine management you can get...
Nothing stopping you from putting on 18" wheels, anything above 17 is for bling factor anyways and 18 will clear your brakes. Besides that Gen 2 tires are no smaller than 3, 4 or 1 for that mater.
dave6666,
Gearing is something you always play around with on drag cars, so tbh I cant even remember how many times I have swapped the gearing on my track cars, only problem is they are not vipers. On supras however going from a 3.73 to a 4.11 and then to 4.30's then to 3.90's etc etc was...
Assuming the driver is competent, learns how to drive the car properly and is good at it I would agree with you. However during real world driving where traction always varies the people with 3.07 have shown to be quicker at least in my experience. Off course there is always people out there...
It does but only seems about 10-15rwhp. The shorter gears have more teeth which in turn causes more parasitic loss, so yes if you go longer gears it will have the opposite effect.
On a side note I would have you seriously consider changing gears, your car may feel quicker but it wont be unless...
Why not just drive a Lexus then? We buy these cars for their performance capabilities, why limit them with crap tires?
Most people DO RUN r compound tires, at least the ones that use their cars for anything more than cruising and car shows. We go out with a group of 20-30 guys every weekend...
Wimps
I have 305's on front R888's, they make em look harder next time.
A 205 r888 hooks better than normal concrete tires.
These are street tires, all DOT approved, and will last you 8k miles.
Kumho v710s, Toyo R888 or Micheline pilot sport CUPS the only tires that belong on any viper or any sports car period.
V710's are the best tire available in 18" with viper widths but many seem to feel they are a bit too aggressive for the street however they are NOT. They will hook on a 1000hp...
Rob,
Do you have any side angle shots? It looks very nice from the rear.
You would be surprised at the function, I bet you are within 15% optimum the way they are. Im assuming they are SRT diffusers right?
My viper was NA and is now TT that still does not change anything though regarding been there done that.
We need to get Greg is here to teach us why this happens, now I am curios as well.
You would need someone like Greg Good to chime in here to explain, but it has a lot to do with the design of combustion chamber. I have spent days on the dyno with my car and multiple other vipers when AEM was designing the unit for our cars. They ran all sorts of air/fuel mixtures to see what...
My comments are meant to be helpful not negative, isnt that the point of a forum to help people with stuff that you know about?
Im not one to blow sunshine up anyones ass when I see something done should I just ignore it and let the members pay for it? I have been doing this stuff for many...
Your dyno sounds about 40 hp high, mind want to get it calibrated. Vipers dont like 12.9 afr btw, there are detonation issues especially at the peak torque area. Besides there is no power worth mentioning to be gained from 12.0 to 12.9 on stock heads.
Far as the other stuff goes thats...
