Steve,
I have the Snake Oyl pedals and I think they look great! But I only have the brake and clutch pedals done because I still have not gotten up the courage to drill holes in the accelerator pedal yet...
Re: In addition to \"lurkers\", how about a \"whatever became of \" thread??
Whatever became of the "Chapter 3" designation for the new Viper? Was it just to close to "Chapter 11" for comfort?
At the Midwest Regional I got a chance to autocross a factory 2001 GTS. I found it handled better than my 1996 GTS. I'm far from an expert, but even to my untrained seat it just felt more nimble. It got around the corse smoother and quicker than mine.
My question: Is the suspension on the 2001...
1) No windows on 1st Gen RT/10s. Hense the curtains to keep some of the water out. V-Mania seems to have the best windows, they slide sideways like a patio door.
2) No windows, no door handles, no locks. If you don't get it; get the '98 it has all 3.
3) Stripes are painted on, under the clear...
Roy,
I talked with the servers at the Hotel Saturday. I think the fault here lies with us. What hotel expects to have 100 people wanting breakfast at 6:00 AM? I think that if we had let them know we were all leaving at 7:00 AM they would have been better prepared.
Another leason learned for...
It all seems to depend on the day and the Tech Inspector. At the Regional at Route 66 when I told him I was going to run 12.20's he told me I needed a drive shaft loop. He still let me run, but the track rules seem to be real inconsistant.
I have pics, but not much time. Look for photos in a few days.
Rick Rinzler's GTS was definately the class of the field. It remined me of a well done Harley. Anyone can buy a bunch of stuff and stick it on, but it is much harder to make it look like it all belongs there. Even my wife commented...
I'm 5'6" also and have no problems. In my '96 I have the pedals and the seat adjusted all the way and I fit fine. And I like to be real close to the steering wheel. I recently drive a 2001 and found that the seat goes a lot farther forward. Too far for me.
Because the seat in my '96 is so far...
1) Honestly Rich I can't see where we spent $250 per person. 1 lunch, 2 diners, 1 open bar. Did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY! I had a great time and felt I got my money's worth! It just seems to me that it could have been done for half the price...
2) Events were great. Drag racing...
Autoform will be glad to sell you pre-cut bulkheads! Keep the originals and save a lot of time and stress!!!
Sorry folks, but I'll be hyping Autoform for a while now for very good reason!
I could not find the part on the Autoform Web Site but I know I saw them in their catalog, so just give...
The easiest way to check your spedo at any speed nowdays is to get a newer GPS receiver. I'm pretty sure that they all can do speed now and they are prety accurate...
I am happy to report absolutely no damage from the plug removal. I had trouble with that plug when I put them in this Spring, so I don't think it was ever seated properly. I know it took Steve a good 20 minutes and lots of lube to get in seated correctly. We even re-used the same plug!
The...
As most of you have already read from Rich's post I had quite an eventful day at the Midwest Regional Rendezvous. I was really blown away by the time and effort the folks from Autoform put into fixing my car. Steve and Gary (I hope I got the name right) worked on my car for about an hour and a...
Re: My \'96 GTS window seals are coming off is there a TSB?
Mine was glued. It has now come unglued on the driver's side. It was before my time so I'm not sure what they used. It did not look like a real good job though...
Not all of us autocrossers have to wory about oil starvation, Jon. With my driving technique I'm not sure I would have pulled enough lateral G's to slide a box of doughnuts off the roof of my car.
Rest assured, however, that an oil pan and ACR adapter are going to be ordered real soon. Just as...
2 plugs issues that I know about.
1) Platinum is a poor conductor, but plugs made from it will not foul as easily. So platinum plugs never work as well as clean copper ones, but dirty platinum plugs will outperform dirty cooper plugs.
2) The stock Champion plugs are different. They have a much...
Sounds right to me Ben. I recently asked about the awsome "race car" sound from one of our local Vipers. It really sounded like I was at the track. My buddy imediatly said that what I was hearing was the overlap.
So lets review, rough idle, more power but only at high RPMS. Sounds like a race...
I went to Sunnyside Motors in McHenry, IL. It was not easy. One of the girls in Service (Tuesday) spent a good 2 weeks talking with the zone rep to get it approved. In the end DC agreed to pay for the part but not the labor to install it. I took a look at the four bolts that held it on and said...
Hey come on Tony, I only asked for the pop-up Avatars yesterday!
Although I have been complaining about the incorrect link to the board from the main page for as long as the board has been on the new sever. I've lost track of how many times you've said "Jay fixed it".
Nadine,
I just had the timing cover gasket (leaking all over the front on the engine) and the gas cap (corrosion) both replaced under warentee here in the US. And I do not have the original factory warentee, but I did get mine from DC.
Must be an early GTS thing!
Sorry, but I have a good...
Tony,
Could you, would you, store the original full size (or at least 800x600) images from the avatars and make the avatars clickable so that the small picture brings up a bigger one. I frequently want to see more detail in them.
Seams to me I have seen this before on some obscure web site...
