One often forgotten thing to check is the thermostat housing. The bolts often get lose and the housing starts to leak.

    Drag racing tires question

    What Y want is following: (based on that you have a 10" wide rim) M/T ET Street 26 x 11.5 x 16 or M/T ET Street 28 x 12.5 x 16 (new for 2003 season) or Hoosier QT DOT 28 x 14.5 x 16 (then you need a 11-12" rim)

    Camshaft damage (picture)

Tracy, yes it is the same engine. After taking it all apart, did it not look as bad as it did first. A little honing and new rings will be ok. Doug, I will test the stock springs and compare to stock specifications. I'll let you know. Ron, Always used Mobile1, I personally don't like it, it's...

    TUNER(shop photo)SHOOTOUT!!!

This is my personal way of doing it. In the picture from left to right is one of our snowmobiles (water in fuel pump), the 993TT, Annelie the Crewchief, a Viper with some upgrades going on ;-) and A SS/AA Hemi Cuda with Valvetrain problem. I'm glad we have a long Vinter up here in Northern Sweden.

    Camshaft damage (picture)

I'm doing a major topend/camshaft job on the engine. No abnormal valvetrain noise. The roller-lifters look perfect...strange. (haven't yet had time to go through them all though)

    Camshaft damage (picture)

The engine is stock. In the picture above you can you se 3 lobes with damage. It seems as the damage is on the top of the lobes. And it is on Intake AND exhaust lobes. When I took the engine apart did I also find that some of the Pushrods did have wear marks on the lifter side. One more picture:

    Camshaft damage (picture)

This is the stock camshaft from my Gen1 engine. Must say I'm suprised about the bad condition. Is it common that there is pices missing from the lobes? At least 7 lobes have visible damage. The engine has 16000 miles... I'm glad I bought a billet core for my new custom grind.

    Scratches in cylinder walls

7 of 10 cylinders look more or less like that, the picture is from the worst cylinder. The Nitrous was added after 16000 miles. The amount of Nitrous used on the strip is equal to .95 sec and 10Mph faster then without. My theory is that the Nitrous have been engaged at to low rpm when I missed...

    Scratches in cylinder walls

Just curios to know if this is normal wear, the small scratches in the cylinder wall...or is it just nitrous abuse?

Performance with Belanger and Open sidepipe

I use the Race only muflers in my system. And most important...install a set of Belanger headers ASAP. And after that a Camshaft that will wake up the beast! :-)

Performance with Belanger and Open sidepipe

Craig, the mufflers I have are the longer ones. Mike, the 11.85/120Mph were made with M/T ET Streets (1.70 60 foot) The launch was realy soft, I couldnt use the nitrous becaus the clutch started to slip, So I just did two runs without Nitrous. 11.85/120Mph and 11.86/120Mph. The speed indicates...

Performance with Belanger and Open sidepipe

I forgott to mention that my Gen1 with the above mods(Belangers and open 3" exhaust) does the Quarter mile in 11.85/120Mph... (OPS! this post was intended for the Gen1 exhaust discussion)

Top end parts to Gen1 (picture)

I choose to go with the Arrows Roller Rockers. The Camshaft is a Crower Billet Core with 116 lobe, 248/248 duration, 585 lift (special grind). It will for sure not pass the emissions but...I will also use a Piggy Back Engine Managements system to control ignition and fuel, so when it's time for...

    Engine lifting points?

It would be great fun to be there. We already have cage, loops and all needed safety equipment. If well come it will be for one of the events on Santa Pod, the races there is acually counted in our Nordic series! We're aiming for 10.90 without NOS and 9.90 with NOS this year... Cheers Viper fellows!
