Tony is right on the mark here. It is real easy to change out just the brake pads. I have a set of 4 EBC RED STUFF Brake Pads that I will let go for less than cost if anyone needs them. I took them in trade toward other items. Just PM me if interested. You can see them here on my site...
You guys should try out Autolite Xtream Performance Plugs XP985 but do not re-gap them. They are a direct replacement plug for the 2003-2006 viper and you will see a performance improvement along with a gain in your MPG. No good for blown engines.
It is quite simple to see if the throttle cable is adjusted right. As long as the throttle body plate closes fully and there is a little free play in the cable you are all set. as far as your tranny having a filter, i think not. Sounds like your dealer is taking you for a ride.
To solve this problem you can install stiffer motor and trany mounts to limit the amount of side to side movement of the engine-trany-exhaust. You will also gain a better shifting car and better rear wheel hook up.
The 2-1/2 Mopar/Borla system above only gets rid of the crossover pipe if you want it too. this system gives you the choice of running true side pipes or leaving the crossover balance pipes in place.
Most people do not realize that George, at MGW, has different height shift knobs for sale. there is a picture on my site along with their heights compared to a stock shifter.

Everything said above is completely true. We have also sold a ton of Mopar/Hurst shifter kits and have never seen a failure. Our shifter kit is based on the same shifter that Dodge sells.

I have the above plate holder and it leaves no marks on your viper. When stopped I tell the cop I washed the viper in a car wash earlier and forgot to replace the front plate. they have always let me go.

Same problem here with the Magnecor wires I bought form Parts Rack. I wish Jon would have informed me of this problem when I bought the wires as I would have gladly paid him the extra money for wire looms that fit the 8.5 mm wires as Magnecor wires are the best and i have never had a failure...
Welcome and enjoy your 03 viper. I too, have been caught out in snow one time. what a mess to clean up! "The 03's are the fastest stock Gen 3's built!" Ain't that the truth!!!!!!!
I have over 10,000 miles on my viper without the hood pad and have had no melted or discolored paint. The engine does sound a bit louder, but hell, race cars do not have hood pads.:drive:
Yes I use the suction cups that came with the escort. It works fine for me as the top of the rear view mirror supports the bottom of the escort.:drive:
I have been running the following in my 2003 without any friction modifier as Royal Purple told me it was not necessary. 20,000 miles and still going strong.
ROYAL PURPLE
01301, 75W140, MAX-GEAR
Also forgot to add that I changed from run flats to Michelin PS 2 tires. These changes worked for me a minimal expense compared to springs and shocks. the only downfall is more vibration felt at the steering wheel from the harder mounts. The upside is that if you are running RT Cats then this...
You may have replacement hi flow mufflers and or Rt cats that retained the factory crossover and tips. you will never know without removing the side sills or contacting the previous owner.
Hi Tony,
I have my escort installed between the top of the windshield and the rear view mirror. this way it can sniff behind the car. Don't know if it would work with a hardtop coupe but this works real well in my roadster. also the mirror holds the detector in place and keeps it from moving...
Same thing in my 2008 Miata with Q oil. Drained it out right away, saved it for the tractor, and went back to Royal Purple. No lifter tap noise at startup. :drive:
