Rich, since you are being so anal, you should do a before and after rwhp dyno test with your setup. The proof is in the numbers. Another factor to check is the amount of time in secs to go from 2000rpm to 6000rpm before and after the change. That is where rotational mass improvements are most...
Yes it will create additional drag. Why put a spoiler on a drag Viper? It's pointless. As to the spoiler not having any effect until 120mph, that's not true. Most factory spoilers generate a decent amount of downforce even at highway speeds.
A track car is not just horsepower, it's how it gets put down on the track. With a claimed 1.5G on tap, the lap times are going to be way better than a car with 650Hp and 1.1G.
Also somebody mentioned the top speed being only 190mph. That could be a result of the drag created by the additional...
PatentLaw, Chuck is 100% right. This car is huge. Just look at the lateral acceleration numbers. 1.5G. Where do you get that in a street car? Or 1.1G for that matter? And under $100K!
Good lord! This car is vicious. I can't wait to break the news to the wife. :nono:
BTW, Chuck has more...
Lucky me, I already have 3. That's one more than I need so if anybody looking for a cute 8-month old, see ya at the next VCA meet with your checkbook. :lmao:
And I forgot to add there might be some Mopar performance too, probably similar to their 01/09/2007 announcement this year. Mouthwatering! :2tu:
Custom Viper displays tweaks from Mopar Performance Parts – and 675 horsepower!
Farmington Hills, Mich., January 9 /EXCLUSIVE from viperclub.org/...
My Toyota Supra TT crashed out twice due to TC in slippery conditions. Since then I hate TC and vowed never to buy a car with one and if I have no choice, then to disable it permanently.
I was told at a recent VCA meet by a very senior VCA official that an announcement is eminent (around 2 weeks) about a special version of the 2008. Details were not released. This is fact not rumor.
My personal speculation is something called the Competition Package aka ACR. It was on the...
The wheel hop banging is different from the differential mount banging (or whatever it is?). The wheel hop banging is a series of thuds as the suspension tries to keep the tires to the ground. The differential banging is a single loud clang.
Charlie got hit by a rock, right on his stripes and then on the windshield. He was mad!
PatentLaw, nice to meet you! We did enjoy our covered bridge burnouts.
I had this happen on my 97 GTS while I was moving from a stop. And I wasn't even stepping on it hard. It only happened a couple of times in my first 2 years or so of ownership. Never since, maybe I mellowed down.
The consensus at that time was differential mounts but nothing was proved.
Isn't it strange that Juli has more responses in this thread than the attendees. :dunno:Oops, I said it out loud. Now I'll wait for the hammer to come down. :2tu::headbang:
The NJ VCA outdid itself today. Great showing. Winery was great. The customized Viper wines made a great year-end gift. I'm keeping them under the Holiday tree (politically correct?). It was nice meeting everybody.
Pictures? And my next scheduled cleanup is in 2010. :2tu:
