I have the same rear tires and they're not noisy. Jack the back of the car up, and check the wheels for runout (be careful with car up).
If they "wobble," they might be bent.
Tapping the dimmer switch did the trick, but the lights come and go. I'm going remove the switch to see if I can service the contacts...or replace. Thanks again guys.
The noise is due to the transmission gears "freewheeling" in neutral. The "clatter" sound is from the spinning gears' backlash and clearances. Lightening the flywheel amplifies the already present sound on these cars.
I also believe that since the transmission sits basically right beside...
Yes, I have the manual. The wiring diagram shows gauges going to ground, but not sure where. Was hoping someone had experience/insight to this problem before I try to go into the dash. Ugh.
I've searched, but didn't find this problem...
Car is a '96 GTS.
Parking lamps and headlights are working perfectly, but the gauge lighting is not coming on. I thought it might just be the dimmer switch on "dim" but it's not changing the illumination at all. It all worked fine...

Think of it as an acquired taste. You've yet to acquire it. :2tu:
The finish on those port walls looks like a sand-roll was used...definitly not the raw casting.
And BTW fellas... the flexible tube with camera attachment is called a "Borescope."

Back in '94, a doctor down the street got one and it was the first one I ever saw and heard in person. I'll never forget the sound of 10-cylinders firing through sidepipes as he stabbed the throttle leaving the stopsign at the end of the street. Then he bought what I was told was the first...
I have used the regular-height (not low-profile) version of that Harbor Freight jack for years with ZERO trouble. I keep the gears greased and dirt away from the piston and it still has a nice touch when letting the car down slowly. Some floor jacks are either on or off when you try to let the...
It varies a good bit on my '96. Some places your finger could almost catch an "edge" and on other places, it's just about smooth.
That's a painted stripe for ya.
