What kind of changes do you expect to see on the 2015 Viper?

I would expect that they'll take what they learned from the TA's success and change the packaging of features, making more of them options in the GTS. Maybe they'll just eliminate the GTS all together and simply offer individual options and option packages...which would have maybe been a better...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

The Corvettes that sold in Jan and Feb last year were the discontinued models. Others may know, but my guess is that they would have been substantially discounted to move, and move they did. Maybe some of those guys are suffering buyer's remorse and getting ready to move up. Btw, does Joe...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

I have complete confidence in the informed consumer, and happen to be one myself I think. Having actually been in the market to buy a car of this nature and price range I looked at all offerings. My search narrowed to the Gen V and when I had enough info to make a good purchase decision I...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

Good weather is coming, and demand with it. Dealers may not be as worried as some would like to think. They've hung onto them through the winter and will expect to sell them when the sun shines. Vipers weren't even proven by positive reviews to be winners until going into winter when demand...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

Not a chance these discounts will last once the old inventory gets sold. Some dealers are probably panicing because Viper sales are slow and they think sales are going to dealers offering the biggest discounts. Well, are they selling like hot cakes at $35k off? I have a feeling they aren't...

    Anyone Lowered On Wheels Yet?

Here's a shot of another, and it looks like it has the Mopar or other shorter springs on it. I definitely like the lowered look, but may be more difficult on the TA, or other models with the front aero spoilers fitted where ground clearance might be an issue.

    Anyone Lowered On Wheels Yet?

Glad to see you giving the Viper a look. I know you were always looking to make your XKR more special and exciting... and the Gen V is definitely going to do that for me compared to my XKR. It does have major fender gap compared to some others, but that's actually consistent with its 60's...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

That ZR1 footage is obviously taken during the hot lap, or the ones leading up to it, and not after it. I'm not surprised MT didn't add that detail at the end as it wouldn't really help support their verdict. This is what Mister Viper said in this thread about the brakes on each car...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

Absolutely. That's clear in the feedback of reviewers, and particularly Randy's private comments and purchase advice for my personal track use and advanced skill level where he was completely unambiguous as to the TA definitely being the one to get for the track. That's a convincing metric to...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

I was under the impression that the discounted price quoted did not include the gas guzzler tax and freight that is included in the $120k all in price. When those are added in the actual savings were much less. Have any members actually bought one for less than $115k all in, plus sales tax, or...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

The rotors are much more resistant to fade and have 15% more swept pad area. Both are big advantages for those pushing hard on the track, and that's why they are the ACR-X brakes (enough said, important benefit for some). Randy boiled the ZR1's carbon brake set-up but the TA's stood up. Some...

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

The discounts on the TA are very little, and a token gesture to allow the buyer to feel he's getting a bit of a deal while lots of other Vipers are reduced. Taking $4k off a TA compared to $20+k off a GTS is nothing, with the car's selling because it's what their buyers want, and at a price...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

I'd place differences in spring, bar and damper rates rather high for affecting driver confidence everywhere, and aero through the fastest bits. R-compounds benefit from a more aggressive alignment with more grip to increase the limits, but not necessarily more driver confidence. It was the...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

The insignificant few pounds and fraction of a second lap time differences are not why track rats will appreciate the car, and those times aren't going to be achievable by most anyways. The beauty of the TA set up is the improvement in handling and confidence approaching and at the limit...

T/A: The RIGHT car at the RIGHT time

The significance of the TA to the community is really in how it changed the view of the Viper in the automotive landscape when all of its reviews were so successful and positive. It's performance is significant in how it is so little different from the SRT and GTS...not how much better it is...

    T/A IN

Congrats Mike. You bought the only orange TA available for sale in Ontario, 1 of 5 built for all of Canada, and I'd have bought it if you hadn't. No white Or black, but I was very lucky to get SRT to allocate a black TA to Canada. I hope to meet you and see your car one day. Bruce

    srt stripes viynal

I think I'm going to be interested in a stripe on my blk TA, but don't want to do anything permanent that is non-stock. So while vinyl isn't the norm, I think it may be a good choice to try maybe a driver's stripe.

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the TA, or a replacement, for 2015. Hopefully they won't announce anything while inventory exists.

Classy response:2tu: Always great to see posts from dealers who seem genuinely interested in providing a quality service.

AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

I can't imagine buying a special interest car and not think about resale value. While you can't expect values to increase over time, you can hopefully choose one that will depreciate as little as possible before levelling off and holding. If you get it right the car may even increase after...

Boy. Some some people are so fickle.

Thanks for the harness install notes. What is it that the sub bar actually attaches to in point 2? Car looks great! Mine will be built in approx. 4 weeks. I'm going to ask the plant manager if there's some way to identify those holes during assembly. Even a bolt head under the carpet would...
