The skip shift thing is driving me nuts. Mostly out of force of habit from driving my other car which has shorter gears, I sometimes try to shift into second fairly early and get locked out of 2nd gear. Coasting through an intersection isn't the greatest of ideas and of course 4th would lug like...
I hear the Mopar kit works well for 3rd gen cars but I'm hearing conflicting reports about it working on the 4th gen. Some Googling on the kit says it doesn't work, that thread says it may, and VPOA's listing says it does but says no refunds. Not sure I want to take the $200 gamble.
I have...
Personally I wouldn't buy anything older than a 2003. The SRT-10's seem to be superior in every single way.
Don't get me wrong, the GTS body style is absolutely beautiful but you get a stiffer chassis and tons of other more modern things on the SRT-10.
Take this post with a grain of salt...

Kits were only available for Gen III's because it would hook onto the throttle cable.
Oh interesting. I didn't realize you could run different width tires on the same rim. Good to know.
Which size tire did you prefer for the street? I'm replacing my 5 year old factory PS2's with Super Sports either way.
I'm strongly considering running black wheels on my car. I'm considering powder coating my razors black but I'm also thinking about switching to the already-black ACR wheels instead...
Now that I actually have a car where I care about it's paint and it's potentially worth the cost, I'm considering getting one of those 3M chip prevention films for the front nose, behind the rear wheels, etc.
I've done a bit of searching here on the forums but I can't seem to find a general...
I bought my car to drive, not as an investment.
That said, I suspect more will go on the market once the fifth gen goes on sale but the Viper is still a rare car -- it's not like you can exactly flood the market with them.
Welcome!
And I totally hear ya -- got mine less than a week ago and I'd be out driving it right now if it weren't pouring buckets. Hopefully the weather is better where you are!
