AMAZING PRICES on new Gen V

Just enjoy the next generation Viper at whatever price you got stuck with. We will all be dead a long time (and you can't take it with you).

How much better are the 01-02 ABS brakes

AFAIK ABS always yields the quickest stop by keeping the tires planted to the road where friction can do its job in decelerating the car. That was a top consideration for me in my Gen 2 search. While highly skilled drivers can approach the stopping efficiency of ABS in a non-ABS car, most don't...

    S2000 push button start

Looks great. You still need to turn the key to unlock the steering column lock though, correct? Does it have ACC position?

    Suspension spring compressor recommendations?

I used Harbor Freight's screw-drive fork units (one on each side) to R&R my rear springs (to swap the perch mounts) with no problem. A lot easier if you use an impact wrench (air or electric) to spin the rod up and down.

Old Mopar wires vs. Quality Wires

Thanks for the measurement efforts. If someone has data on a set of NOS Mopar Oreca cables (made by Magnecor), that would be a good addition.

    MotorTrend 2000 rt10 dyno

Thanks for sharing such a good retro article. Helps me connect with mine in a new way.

no, No, NO.... you can't do this to your rear brakes!!!!

So I should save the rears I just removed from my '01 that worked fine for 13K miles as someone may have a use for them? Are they a one-off Viper application?

Does VCA assist in collecting judgments against VCA vendors?

As a VCA member with a previous VCA vendor complaint, I did ask for assistance and someone from VCA made a phone call to me and later to the vendor to facilitate resolution. It worked. Perhaps it is just a member accommodation?

Where do I get another one of these?

Don't put off replacing the stock power steering pump bracket and pulley either.

    Ralph wants/needs an automatic

Yup. My lowly experience driving a diesel Jetta with DCT (VW calls it 'DSG' or 'Direct Shift Gearbox') supports the great potential of a DCT if it scales up to Viper HP.

Photo taken at Homestead Air Force base on the runway Apron last Friday.

Nice. Did you get clearance to take a few runs down a runway?

LED lighting of speedo cluster and gauges

Cruise would be nice to have indeed; you would have to deal with the humiliation of the Nanny Curse though!:rolaugh:

Solo Cross Country Trip in Viper Contingency Plans

With no cruise control, I'd seriously think about some way to relieve your right leg once in awhile without having to stop. I did this in a '71 bug with a stick that I would use to periodically press on the accelerator . . . unsafe but worked well! Also, don't know when your clutch hydraulics...

    Keeping the juice flowing

Best bet would be to go through the trouble of removing the battery (I know, a PITA itself) and bringing it inside on the battery maintainer of choice.

    Differential oil GTS -00

This pink 'Pepto Bismol' looking stuff should work well in the Viper diff (don't forget to add a dose of anti-slip lube as well). I use the shock proof in the CARC final drive on my Moto Guzzi with no issues.

    You folks drive at night?

    Closing doors

All great suggestions here. I've been putting this fix off by simply pulling up slightly on the door handle but plan to eventually match-mark the four bolt positions and loosen slightly and adjust in small increments. For those with the worn door detent hold spring (me included), be careful not...

    Shipping a 1996 GTS Open Carrier - Do's and Don'ts?

I would like to suggest you move to the Viper in Nevada. Having lived near you in Irwin/Harrison City for 8 years, it would be a good change (for the sunshine alone).

BBK on 96 GTS with Stock Wheels

Mark at IPSCO can serve you up with the brackets for the swap. The hard part is making the decision to cut the rear mounting ears off.

Saying bye and giving an apology

On a buyback, how do you recoup some or all of the T-T-T expenses? Does SRT cover that as well?

VCA Drama: what are the known facts?

SoFL is rethinking that commitment and this week Mr. Ilver asked the SoFL members to express their preference for VOA or VCA (instead of just a unilateral decision by someone).

    power steering issue

Get both the pulley and pump bracket replaced. Remove the pump so you can cut the metal hub off and put on the new pulley without moving the pump shaft. Is JonB's pulley IPSCO Mark's?

My slave cylinder **** the bucket?

Had mine fail at 12xxx miles. It's a hostile environment in the bellhousing and the the rubber seals in the slave just can't take it after 10 years or so. Has more to do with heat than anything else I suppose.

    Dealer service recommendation

A bit further north, but Vero Beach dodge is also Gen V territory. Owner is a muscle car fanatic and we had great satisfaction with our Challenger SRT8 purchase there. Weve been to Wallace for warranty work and were pleased. Arrigo is a mega-dealer that I would not recommend (have purchased from...
