    In line with what you're saying, an OFF switch at best just mean it's not actively doing what it's supposed to do, but it is still part of the electrical/computational system. Which still means more components to break and go wrong, even if it's not "ON". Stupid... so many cars WITH nannies...

    I go to Ted's for all my maintenance stuff... great guy, reasonable price. My shocks sprung a leak on a weekend when I was nearby. Luckily, he comes in occasionally on the weekend and told me to stop by. He replaced the bad shock with a spare used one he had and sent me on my way without taking...
