    Road racing tire question

The Michelins on the ACR-X are TALL. My first two sets jsut arrived today, so I haven't seen them yet. But the rain tires, which are shorter than the slicks, are taller than the Hoosier DOT A6s I have been using in the 345/35-18 size for the last few years.

Enclosed trailer questions 24' Featherlite, securing spare tires, generator location?

Re: Enclosed trailer questions 24' Featherlite, securing spare tires, generator locat I've had three trailers in nine years: 28' tagg, 40' Pace gooseneck, and now a 44' liftgate. You never have enough room... A 24' is barely large enough to do what we do. But if you are smart with your storage...

    Viper crash....in Wisconsin....in JANUARY!

Looking at that picture, all I can say is, "Are ya kidding me?" C'mon guy, get with the program and engage the brain.

Strike that offer; I woke up remembering that these tires are sold! Sorry for that.

    Road racing tire question

I have a set with three heat cycles that I'd sell for $250 if you want to try them before buying new.

Congratulations, Martin. See you soon on the track.

SCCA BF Goodrich Super Tour Sebring

I do, but not with me. I didn't download the data from the Race-Keeper because we left the track so quickly, and the car is an hour away.

    Dodge Viper ACR-X #43

The heat bubbled the wrap on my STO car. I don't know if that is caused due to both exhausts exiting the right side, although the bubbling is at the front, where only one side come close. Yes, we did use some insulation, but evidently not enough...

Michelin Pilot Sport 2s: what's the going price?

Things went well. The weather was perfect. I was reviewing my nose-mounted GoPro shots from the race, and marveled at how blue the sky was...now I am in Ohio and we're expecting 6 inches of snow...

Michelin Pilot Sport 2s: what's the going price?

Matt, I am already back in Ohio. I originally thought the car with Pilot Sport "Cups," and had the tires sold. Then the buyer showed up and realized what is on the car. (Keep in mind I haven't scene the car for more than 2 minutes, so I know few details about the car) BTW, I missed seeing you...

Michelin Pilot Sport 2s: what's the going price?

All, I have a set of brand new Michelin PS2s taken from my new-from-the-factory ACR-X (Chassis #43). I have no use for the tires, as we use the Michelin slicks. So, what's a set worth? I will put an add in the classifieds once I get a feel for pricing. Thank you in advance.

SCCA BF Goodrich Super Tour Sebring

The FIA came in and mandated 15 new sections of Jersey barrier to the pit wall, essentially cutting off the abilty for cars to go wide right before Rurn One. I think it cost us .50-.75 of a second per lap.

SCCA BF Goodrich Super Tour Sebring

I think I know what you are referring to, and SCCA warned us not to use that short-cut, or suffer a 10 second per lap penalty. I was hoping to have my ACR-X ready to take down there and run the Thursday test sessions. I think I can get that car in the 2:10s, but until it's done, who knows...

SCCA BF Goodrich Super Tour Sebring

Her are the first 4 laps...pretty boring as I only have the view from the front. The front camera on my Race-Keeper lost its set screw, so it wouldn't hold its focus. I hurriedly bought a GoPro HD2 camera and stuck it on the nose of my car. Pretty cool, but no action in front as everything was...

Viper Returns to Rolex Series and Grand Am

Wow! We run a 55mm plate, which is almost equal to a 30% restriction. 60? All I can say is "wow." But I expected something like this. I think, but may be wrong, that this is a Gen 4 motor. Can someone confirm? Even if it is a Gen 3, I think it is a GT2 build, which is pretty stout.

    Dodge Viper ACR-X #43

Oh, the canards will be reinstalled. The shop removed them to apply the wrap. I actuall like how they look on the car. The car's appearance will change in the next few months. As soon as I get the Viper Cup-mandated stickers (contigency and number placards), those will go on and change the...

2010 Dodge Viper Stolen Need Help From Viper Community World Wide

I say stone them to death... Seriously, it takes a lot of work to afford a car like this; so stealing a Viper is like forcing someone to work for a year with no pay...slavery! People like that should AT LEAST get a serious beating. I hate thieves, does it show?

    Quaife Sequential trans.???

Tree: I was leaning towards the Quaiffe for my uses (540 RWHP at 3,333 lbs). I knew Ben Keating had one in his Comp Coupe and he seemed pretty satisfied with it.

    Quaife Sequential trans.???

I have no direct experience with a sequential, but did quite a bit of research... The Quaiffe is $12,000 plus the bellhousing is another $1,000 or so. A driveshaft is required as well, but that's not a big deal. The "no lift shift" is an extra cost option. Below is the text from an email I...
