Just make sure you are always ready for the back end to come loose, sometimes it happens when you think you are barely pressing the pedal. Otherwise use it and have fun!
Who makes the nicest gauge pod for the viper. I'm looking to mount (2) 2 1/16 gauges. Right now I have one centered right between my speedo & tach, but if I add the 2nd it won't work. If anyone has pictures, please post them.
Thanks!
I've gone both routes and for a street car I can tell you that SC is the way to go. I built many cars with heads and cam. If you don't go crazy, it good reliable power. Today why would spend all the money (and it does add up) to do heads and cam to get marginal power compared to the...
Adam,
I'm actually going to take a nap now. Been out in it all day. Did a few donughts in my Navigator with my kids, they loved it! Then went to a friends and warmed up with a whole bunch of scotch. Of course the wife drove home. Got to rack out for an hour and start it all up agian. I...
I've had mine spin at 100. No clutch just pushing a bunch of power to the tires. As the rpms climb so does the power on a centrifugal blower car. Don't like that feeling at that speed.
I've always viewed ring and pinon set up's as an art form. You should probably leave the actual set up of the gears to and experienced shop that does them. You can easily pull the rear and take it to someone. I don't know where in NY you are, but there is a shop near me that has done a few of...
Start with the easy stuff first. Check the battery connections. With a loose connection at the battery, you can close your car door and it could be enough vibration to make or break the connection. It is very common to have a loose battery cable and much less common to find these other weird...
You could guess forever or just put the car up in the air and see what the problem is. Half shaft, Drive Shaft or Rear should be pretty easy to diagnose.
Re: Wouldn\'t a trip to Jamaica be nice about now?
Actually we don't really do the resorts. As long as you are cool and respect people you shouldn't have problems. We used rent motorcycles so we could head on up the the cliffs at any time. No that we bring the kids, we cab it.
Re: Wouldn\'t a trip to Jamaica be nice about now?
That's not the Jamaica I have been going to for the last 8 years. Negril is the place to be. Beautiful, no bars on windows and plenty to help you relax.
Re: Wouldn\'t a trip to Jamaica be nice about now?
I will be there in a little over a month. We go every year aroud Christmas. The only problem with Jamaica is there are no Vipers!
Re: 780 RWHP and climbing.....
Matt,
I call it like I see it. I thought comment about everyone being so skeptical and jealous here was aimed at me since your post seemed to be in response to my post about the fishy #'s. Thanks for clearing things up. Please post the dyno sheet when you get a...
Re: 780 RWHP and climbing.....
Jealous, I guess you didn't know that I am driving a 2000 with plenty done to the motor and Jason Heffners SC system pushing 13psi. Believe me, my post doesn't come from jealousy. I work too, own my own business which has it's pressures, but to come out and...
Re: 780 RWHP and climbing.....
Strange that the post title is 820 RWHP and climbing and when someone asked to see a dyno sheet it quickly went to 780 hp. That's a big difference! Also it says that he is making it at 5000 rpm but later states that they never ran the car past 4800 rpm. Is it...
Re: Quick question
Paolo,
If it works out well for you, you know I will be right behind you! Make sure you get a good current baseline of what the car is performing at now. I can't harness the power now with street tires, but for some stupid reason I still always want more. Sounds like it...
Re: MASH\'S APEX 550 STROKER
I agree, this isn't an open and shut case. That is why I hope the parties get together and resolve it. I didn't see anything in Bill's post about any type of resolution. Where is Wayne when you need him to talk it up.
Re: MASH\'S APEX 550 STROKER
OutThere,
Let me just add one point. I have seen Doug Levin fly up to NY solely to fix a customers car. The failure had nothing to do with Dougs work, but Doug wanted to see first hand what happened and help his customer out quickly. Jason Heffner recently...
Re: Video - World\'s First 9-second Supercharged Viper!
Congrats Jason! Can I start telling people that I now have a 9 second Viper, or do I actually have to run it at the track?
Probably fine, you probably pushed the oil out of them while you were turning the motor working on the others. Usually you get a bunch that are very easy to push in by hand. If there was a problem you would hear a nice lifter tick while the car was running.
