Wheel/Tire weight - info to share
The six spokes would be my street tires, Chuck, and the tires were already on 'em. I know the stock ACR wheel is lighter, and apparently made out of unobtanium, so we'll save those for the Sport Cups / track tires.- Janni

Another NJ Viper Rental wreck ?? Anyone know what happened?
The style of driving that one employs when behind the wheel of a rental car is completely contrary to what you need to do to drive a Viper. I drive rentals cars like the gas pedal is an on / off switch with the brake. Admit it - we all do it. Think about someone inexperienced doing that with...- Janni

Wheel/Tire weight - info to share
Bumping for more info: Stock 6 spokes with virgin PS2's: Front: 48 lbs (both within .1 lb) Rear: 60 lbs (again, both within .1 lb) Scale - Intercomp race scale I'd say this is a pretty reasonable wheel / tire combo for those looking to save weight.- Janni

seeking New Tire guidance please
With the contact patch of 4 tires being the only thing keeping you "stuck" to the road - get the PS2's. Most issues come with folks - even experienced folks - getting a little aggressive in the corners. You should want all the lateral stick you can get your hands on.- Janni

Buying an ACR-X
It's possible to compete with a Viper in a spec series. Henry and I did it in the Comp Coupe had he won the VRL Championship in 2005 against folks that spent tons more money - i.e professional crew, multiple sets of tires per weekend, personal coaches, coming in a day early to practice, etc...- Janni

Viper Race HQ / Tom Francis is in NC. Earlier this year - it was part of Evernham Motorsports, but is now a separate entity. This entity sold the comp coupes and is selling the ACRX's. It's a NC sale and NC tax is collected if you are an NC resident. And it's sales tax - NOT vehicle tax -...- Janni

The ACR X is a great deal for a track ready car with a series. It is purpose built - and cannot be used on the street. Anyone buying it to stuff it away is silly. Buy it, drive it, race it. participate in a series with other Viper owners in like vehicles - a driver's series that hopefully...- Janni

2010 ACR convertible
Until you've been at the track in a fairly "simple" incident that left someone you care about hanging upside down, you likely won't understand the need for a lid at track events. Stuff can go wrong quickly at the 165 MPH speeds the Viper routinely sees. You should want every bit of protection...- Janni

The aero is functional at speed at 55 plus. With the different lines of the vert - both top up and top down - there's tons of wind tunnel time that would be required and likely if they got it to work one way - it would be highly unstable and dangerous the other way. Chrysler Announces 1.9% Financing On Dodge Viper for 60 Months
You also don't get good scores by not using someone else's money for free for 48 months, or - even for 6 years at 1.9%. that's lower than a mortgage rate even counting the tax deduction..... and I think everyone can do better than 1.9% a year ROI.......- Janni

Viper to be canceled and new Viper to come in 2012
Keep making excellent low end torque in a V10 with some curves back on the body and I'll keep buying. Period. I saw a 1996 GTS parked out in front of some shops the other day. There's simply nothing like it. Love the new ACR, love the comp coupe - but it's just not as sexy as the blue and...- Janni
