I pulled back the rubber boot to see 2 wires that broke so cleanly they looked cut, lol. One was the door actuator and the other was the 6" door speaker.
I just rewired those two for now with longer wire, and TADA ... my door worked again!!!
Thanks a TON guys ... that helped me a LOT :) ---
Fill me in on the oil catch cans.
Whats the popular one used by most of the people on this site (brand, link please)?
Is it worth it to use on a N/A engine , or is it mainly for the Forced Induction crowd?
Thanks :) ---
Re: How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual --
How good of a job does the in-tank filter bag do? Will it catch most of the contaminants before they even have a chance to get to the external-filter?
Shouldnt the in-tank filter bag get clogged and cause...
Re: How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual --
He told me if I had an external fuel filter it was because someone added it ... he would look for it and replace it if he found it if I wanted, LOL.
Someone explain to me a "viper tech" ... is this something...
Re: How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual --
I just got off the phone with the dealer, and he said that the only way to change the filter is to get into the gas tank?
Is that true? If so, he recommends I only change it when its time to change the...
Re: How many miles before you should change the fuel filter? Not in owners manual --
Thank you both ... I will add it to the list of maintenance to get taken care of ASAP :) ---
I will be at the dealership tomorrow getting my door wiring harness fixed from a couple broken wires.
I was thinking of having them do the fuel filter too since I heard its a pain in the butt to do without a lift.
PLUS, I cant seem to find a replacement filter at my local AutoZone ... and I...
Im interested in changing my gearbox/tranny fluid too because of uncertain history.
What is the recommended mileage for the transmission fluid to be changed?
EDIT ... I just found it in the owners manual ... around 20-25k miles ---
Interesting, I will have to check them out. I think I still have OEM mats and they definately bunch up under the pedals, thanks for the heads up :) ---
Jeff, I just got in the car and tried opening it from the inside ... I definately heard the solenoid clicking under the dash. I feel a lot better now that it is just a wire and not the actual door actuator. I even saw what you said about the gill cover blocking the right side of the rubber...
Are they usually in cab or under the hood?
Can you calibrate the speedo with the SCT tuner by just plugging it into the OBD2 port under the dash ... requiring no "box"?
I'm not sure how the previous owner went about calibrating or tuning this car, but I bought a SCT tuner and plan on...
Thanks a lot guys ... I will try to fix it Monday and let you know how it goes :)
Does anyone know specifically which color the one is thats connected to the door latch? ---
You guys are talking about a break where the door meets the hood/windshied area, not where the door hits the body around the handle area, right?
Will the whole harness need to be replaced , or if I take it to the dealer will they just find the break and splice it?
What do you estimate the...
WOW, the battery? Why would that affect the speedo?
The volt gauge stays pretty strong, but I will do what you guys are suggesting and check out the battery.
Thanks :) ---
Thats a good heads up , because I noticed my door speakers crackle and go in and out a little bit too ... probably broken wires there too!!! My door sags a LITTLE bit, would that add to the problem? Thanks :)
*edit* I just went out HOPING it would open, and it wont. I jiggled the rubber...
