Sorry to hear it needs replacement as I think they are pretty expensive. I think Jon B is a great idea as he can usually come up with some good deals in a fairly fast timeframe.
I recently had the fan on my 1999 RT-10 fail. I checked with Jon B and he told me where to look for the relay for the fan and I was able to find it, replace it, and keep from replacing the fan. On the 99 there are 3 relays in a plastic box in front of the main fusebox under the hood on the...
I am curious about how many Northwest Viper people are planning to go to VOI 12 in Charlotte? I am planning to drive there and I will be leaving on September 21st. Nancy is going to fly there and arrive on Wednesday afternoon. I plan to arrive in Charlotte on Wednesday the 26th. I am assuming I...
I wish you all good luck. I am hoping the change in the restrictor and the weight change will help some. It is a tough job wringing out a new racecar, but I am confident that SRT will make it happen.
Good News! We have found the cause of the engine problems that caused the code to throw. My local tuner, MAX RPM in Bremerton, worked on the car today and found that the rear driver side O2 sensor was bad. He cleaned it and put it on the other side and it showed the right side as bad. That...
Thank you Jack B. I have been making slow progress. I don't have much in ther line of diagnostics, but I have eliminated a few items and tomorrow I will try to get to a local tuner to get hooked up to diagnostics. Here is what I accomplished: I changed out the fuel filter which was partially...
I thought of that. I am checking a couple of other things, but a check to see how much output it has would be a good idea. It is a huge pain to replace it and expensive, so I will eliminate simpler things first. Thanks for the input.
I need some help to get my Viper running correctly again. I am planning to drive it some 3,000 miles to VOI 12 in Charlotte and I need to get the engine issue figured out.
A little backgound on the car: It is a 1999 RT-10 with 88,500 miles, smooth tubes, Belanger cat back exhaust, and high flow...
I had that happen one time on my 1999 RT-10. It appeared like the metal crystallized and the stud snapped off. Unfortunately I was up at Johnstone Ridge on Mt. St. Helens on a Sunday afternoon. I was lucky enough to be able to ge a part from Larry's Viper Parts and we were able to repair it...
It looks like they are about 2 seconds off the pace of the Corvette. I think they will have a lot of things to sort out in this first race. It has been a long time since the Vipers have run in competition with factory backing, but with their help things will get much faster in the next few races.
I am planning to come over for the event. I sent you an email also. I think they are predicting dry weather. I would rather wash dust off my car instead of mud.
Your car looks great with the new top. It looks like a factory installation and the car looks very low and sleek.
I have had my 3 piece top for a couple of years and love it. I like the look of the car with it on. It looks so much lower and the scoop on top is a nice look.
I have the vinyl...
Steve, my Pacific Raceways track evening went OK. I had to use the number they assigned which was 69. I guess it brought more luck then 13. I enjoyed running there, but compared to Shelton it is a lot harder on the car. They made me take an instructor again even though I had run there before...
I just got a phone call from Fred at Ridge Racing and due to construction at the track they have cancelled Friday's Track day. They are building a permanent concrete pit wall next to the front straightaway. They apparently figured we didn't want to have to swerve around cement mixers on the...
I am looking at some optiions, but I may wait till after VOI and see what some people back there are doing. I will have to adjust my track stuff so I don't drive too deep into the corners and run out of brakes. I will use the track day to experiment and see exactly what I need to do. I may have...
I just got off the phone with the people at Ridge Racing and they will let me move to the 8th for my track day. I guess you 2 are stuck with me next week. Maybe some of the other track rats in the area will join us at the Ridge next week. Steve, good luck with your wheeel stud replacement. I...
Thanks for the update. I emailed them to see if I can switch my track date to the 8th so I can run with you guys. If I can't switch I may put my new PS2s on the car and give it a shot. It may not be too bad tomorrow, but It would be a lot more fun if it is dry and there are other Vipers there.
I am guessing the R6 is on the right. It looks like amud and snow (kidding) tire to me. Look at all those grooves. It looks like it will be fine for road use, but wet tracks might not be fun. Thanks for the photos.
