Fangs 10 Thanks for the post. I like the shot in your avatar. The stock car without stripes is awesome, but something about adding a little special touch to them sets them apart. I am expecting that the stripes will give me another 5 mph top end too (just kidding).
5 years ago I finally got the car I had lusted for since 1989. I bought a black 1999 RT-10 from Ray Agen in Anchorage. I anxiously awaited its arrival and as soon as I got it I started to think about things to change. I use the car as a dry day daily driver here so I tend to put miles on it...
I saw in the Viper National Forum that the VOI 12 is going to be held in Charlotte NC on September 27-30. They have Lowe's Moptor Speedway near there and as usual there are a lot of events planned. I am planning to drive there in conjunction with some other travel, including a drive up Pikes...
That sounds like a great venue. It happens to be about 3,000 each way from here, but I guess I will get a nice scenic drive and get to visit some other nice areas on the way. I have a "bucket list" item to drive the Viper up Pikes Peak, so this should be my big chance. As far as putting miles on...
Here is a link showing a 2011 Corvette Z06 running some hot laps on the Ridge Motorsports Track on November 6th. It looks like it is going to be a nice fast track. The corkscrew looks like a lot of fun. They said he hit 150 on the straight.

I hope this...
Jon B suggested that I try it in natural carbon fiber with the black car. It is dark enough that it seems to blend in nicely. I also like the pattern when the sun shines on it ( a rare occurence in the northwest). I appreciate your thoughts on it.
I like the look and how it changes the rear end appearance. I recently bought a carbon fiber rear spoiler from Jon B and so far I have left it in the carbon fiber color on my black 99 RT-10. I think I will leave it natural for now. I can always paint it later.
I have been following the progress. It looks great with the paving. They mentionedd they will be having some events this fall/winter. I am only an hour away and I am ready to go. We are very lucky to have a nice new road course so close. I am hoping it won't be too expensive to run there.
I have a 1999 which has no plastic covers and a bad reputation for breaking. I bought a set of 40 mil clear Laminex film covers which I stuck on the glass and I have yet to crack one. They are at www.lamin-x-com .
I have about 10 track days so far, but I now have the bug and I will be running more often next year. They will be opening a new 2 mile road course in Shelton, WA, about an hour from where I live and I am hoping to get to run there a lot next year.
I am not going fast enough yet to need more...
You are right, the mods are very similar. I like the look of your CCW wheels. I am running a set of stock wheels and Kuhmo V-700 tires with 305-18 on the fronts and 335-18 on the rear. I also use the SRF brake fluid, but I still have have stock rotors and calipers. I also want to eventually do...
I went to the Cascade HPDE in 2008 with encouragement from Jon B and loved it. That is a great track to learn on. I also got a ride with Jon and it showed just how fast a person could go around that track. Since then I have become a beginning track rat and I am equipping my RT-10 with 6 point...
I was lucky to get mine used for $1.000 from a local Viper owner. It may be that he didn't like the fits either. I have fiddled witih adjustments and made it a little better, but they just don't seem to adjust enough to get the fit exactly right. I was also unable to get a lot of information...
If the Mach 7 is like the 3 piece removable top I have on my 1999 RT-10 then perhaps I can help out. I bought mine used off Craig's List a couple of years ago and I have come up with an easy method of installing it. I gave up using the studs as they were a big bother. To install the 3 piece top...
That picture is of my car. From my testimonial you woulodthink I am 88 years old because I have detailed cars for 51 years. I really did start in high school and somehow just enjoy shining up cars. I seem to be an unofficial salesman for Griot's now. Perrhaps I should ask for a special pricing...
I live in the Seattle area and my car is pretty much a daily driver with 80,000 miles on it. I prefer to drive it on dry days only, but I have been caught in big rainstorms and as long as I was careful on the throttle it did fine. I will take it out on some wet days and the only reason I don't...
I was pleased to hear that Dyno Days will be taking place in Bremerton, almost in my backyard. Max RPM is a nice place and it should be a great chance to check out our cars again, especially if you have made any modifications over the winter. I am also curious to see a certain Dodge SRT-10...
This morning I got an email from Griot's Garage who make detailing products. They currently make all sorts of waxes etc as well as a 3 inch and a 6 inch random orbital buffer. Their ad today introduces a new 1 inch buffer for small areas, polishing eyeglasses and coins. It is priced at $41.11...
We had a nice early half to the day today so I took my 1999 RT-10 out for a nice run to get the cowbwebs out prior to a track day on Sunday. I was also able to roll over to 80,000 miles on the odometer.
