I am 66 and retired , but have only owned a Viper for 4 years. It should be able to keep me feeling a lot younger for many more years. I plan to drive it another 20 years if I can keep healthy enough.
The national forum had a reminder about the National Geographic show "Ultimate Factories" which will be featuring the Dodge Viper. It is scheduled for Thursday February 17th (tomorrow) at 7:00 P.M. on the National Geographic Channel (Channel 673 on Comcast).
You can check out a preview of...
I installed a set of chrome smooth tubes on my car last month so I have an extra set of black ones here. I think he will use this them, but thank you for the offer.
We have a new (1994) Viper in town and we are wondering about using smooth tubes on it along with the K & N filters. I have looked at past posts and searched, but I didn't find anything about whether you can eliminate the whiz-bank plenum (?) thing hanging off the bottom of the intake tubes. I...
Outstanding photography and information. It was perfect timing for me as I am getting ready to swap out my fascia with a spare one I just finished repainting.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the comments. I have the power steering overflow already and additionally, Clint put the billet power steering pulley and bracket on a while back. I will look into the baffled oil pan for track days. I am thinking that the next steps after this year may be upgrading the brakes if I...
I decided to do some upgrades to my RT-10 after Salt Lake and I was able to get some new go-fast goodies for my Viper. I needed a new radiator, so I got an aluminum triple pass radiator from Roe. I also replaced my worn out OEM cats with a set of High Flow cats. I also got an SCT custom engine...
I wish I would have taken photos when I did mine to show the steps.
The first step was to take a automotive trim removal tool (a flat metal tool with a notch in it) and pop all the buttons loose. Once you have removed all of them (don't forget the one in the middle) you can lift off the...
Be sure that you get headliner adhesive. I did a re-gluing with plain adhesive on my hardtop a couple of months ago and as soon as I got it in the sun it sagged back down. My headliner had some minor thin spots so I decided to replace the cloth. I was able to find a similar cloth at an...
It was a decent day here in Washington State so I decided to take the Viper out for a little drive and take some snapshots of my 1999 RT-10. I took most of them in Port Gamble, an old lumber town near here on Hood Canal. I had just finished polishing the wheels and waxing the car.
I thought I...
Very nice. I saw one in Salt Lake and the color combination really stands out. HOpe to see it running around in the region. How about coming to autocross?
I got my shipment of PS2's last week for my 1999 RT-10 and it cost $1307 plus shipping ($77 to Washington State). I got the $70 certificate on top of that which made the shipping almost free. I hadn't seen PS2's that cheap before now. I am getting mine mounted tomorrow and they should be a heck...
I just bought a new set of Michelin PS2's for my 1999 RT-10 from Tire Rack and the cost was $1383. I also got a $70 money card from Michelin for buying 4 tires. That wound up being $1313 with no sales tax and $77 shipping to Washington state. I am anxious to get them mounted as my old rubber was...
Make sure that when Santa delivers the goodies that he gets them to each car and doesn't forget either one.
I am hoping that this will be a nice combination of goodies for my car. I have been starting to take it on the track and with the Kuhmo V700's I have on my track rims I think I am going...
My 1999 RT-10 is getting a new aluminum radiator, hi flow cats to go with my cat back exhaust, engine SCT flash device, chrome smooth tubes, a set of 3:55 gears and a new set of Michelin PS2's. It has been a very nice Viper this year, so it deserves all of these goodies.
I saw the same car a few months ago in Bremerton. It is pretty distinctive as the stripes are graphite instead of silver. I saw the hood and it was a Gen IV. Nobody knew who it was when I posted about it. I will have to keep my eyes open for it now.
It was a great place and a lot of fun. I met Tom Gale and Francois Castaing when they were just touring the parking garage and checking out all of the 300+ Vipers parked there. The banquets and presentations were great and it was exciting to meet the head of Dodge Ralph Gilles. The introduction...
I just got my AutoWeek magazine today and they had an article saying that the Viper will continue. They quoted some people who had a quick preview in Orlando at a dealers convention. They have 2 photos of what they think the car will look like, but having seen the real thing they seem to have...
I forgot to include a couple of shots of my car too. Unfortunately these are taken today after my drive home in a series of rainstorms as well as a bird strike. I managed to hit a small owl which was sitting in the road in a dark stretch of road south of Pendelton. The poor little guy was hit...
Thanks for the reply. I thought I had read that a lot of people decided to just take them off. I haver never liked how big they are and the fact that they aren't very pretty or useful. I guess they can deflect wind, but the reason I got the RT-10 is to feel the wind. I will take them along just...
