Maybe you can swap body panels with a Gen2 that wants to convert to side exhaust. I'm assuming Gen1&2 RT10 panels are interchangeable, but I'm not sure. Just an idea :2tu:
That's also the first thing I noticed :D The cool thing about those cars is, you can pretty much stick any V8 crate engine in there, and it's still considered ok. Do that with any other exotic, and it's considered sacrilege
Don't forget. The C5 has traction control, stability control (later years) and ABS. In the Viper, your right foot will have to do the job of these systems (unless you get a 01+ for ABS). It's much closer to a pure race car. Although I have to say, for a daily driver, the Vette is a no brainer to...
I've had two C5s, and the Viper is a completely different animal. It's absolutely brutal and raw. It might not be as fast as some modern sportscars (if you can call 4s 0-60 slow), but it's still a beast. Is it fun: YES! Is it involving: Probably more so than most cars out there :)
Buy a...
Looks great :headbang: I've always liked the white letter look. Not sure why it went away, as it used to be quite popular. I used to do that with a special white tire marker that I bought at my local auto parts store. Not sure if these are still sold these days.
True....many high end sports cars have squealy brakes....the only problem is that most people in the street will think you are neglecting your Viper and aren't bothering to change the brake pads since it sounds like the wear indicator squeal.
I think just for the benefit of getting rid of...
In the owners manual it even mentions that they will squeal....they are metallic brake pads and are fairly noisy when cold. I upgraded to Ceramic pads, which has two advantages....no noise and little brake dust.
I remember when the Prowlers came out....sticker price was reasonable, but they were selling for way over sticker as well at many places. But $50k markup is just rediculous. I wonder how Canadian Dealerships are going to handle this?
If you ever want to see real F1 skill, go look at an old GP race from Monaco on Youtube from the mid to late 80's and watch Senna's in-cockpit view. He must shift a hundred times per lap, all perfectly rev matched, while fighting to control the car. Now that was skill and no one today will ever...
Toe-heel shifting is the coolest skill one can have....it's a lost art and most folks don't have a clue what it is :) I personally do it whenever in higher revs....makes for a much smoother downshifts and safes the transmission. But for coasting to a stop, it is pretty pointless unless you want...
Well, Vipers now have the SRT emblem, not Dodge, so they did put it up higher in the order. And I don't mind them being more expensive - makes them less mass market. They will still sell all of them, even if they were to ask more.....Imaging them having the same price as Vettes or Mustangs :omg...
I remember when Hammond drove a Formula car on Top gear. You need to have the guts to drive it fast to get the downforce for cornering and to get heat in the brakes....even though the Hamster has so much experience behind high end sports cars, even he wasn't able to overcome his fears...I guess...
