Top Gear = Entertainment show
If you prefer car reviews, watch Fifth Gear.
The US trip wasn't their best show, lacked uniqueness. But if you're a Top Gear addict, you'll take it :)
I was really impressed by the Comparison. Gen2 looks at least as exotic as the GenV. I bet most folks couldn't even tell which is the new model if they aren't familiar with Vipers, because the Gen2 has such a timeless form. And performance wise it really kept up, even though the Video did...
If you don't use your fog lights too often, you could also get rid of them altogether and put some brake cooling ducts there instead. Probably the same price, if not a lot cheaper if you fab your own system.
Less places where the wax will creep into :) I really am pleased with the result. It really annoyed me when I got a comment 2 weeks ago "Nice Dodge..." :) Not that I mind it being a Dodge, but I think they made the right decision to take the new Viper out of the Dodge devision and create the SRT...
No, but if you close your eyes, you can visualize the scenerio. Before, it had D O D G E lettering, now it has no lettering. :rolaugh:
But I'll try to get a few photos up :2tu:
Had it out today :) Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Spring!
If you're ever in Tsawwassen, lets get together at Petra's for a coffee :2tu:
The Dodge lettering is gone ;) Just finished. Took only a few minutes with a hair dryer. They came off easy and a little WD40 took care of the little residue that was left. Cheers.
You can get your dash and doors wrapped in REAL CF for a mere $1500. :2tu:

I'll leave the Viper lettering on...just the Dodge bothers me a bit. Haven't decided 100% yet, but I'll probably be doing it just to modernize it a bit :)
Well, we have sun here in Vancouver as well....roads are dry and I took my Viper to work today. Glad we finally have some warmer temps. Feels almost like spring already :)
Front plates are mandatory here in British Columbia Canada as well. I don't think they will ever change it...one reason they state is for visibility, since they are reflective...but daytime running lights are also mandatory here, so no plates are not going to make much difference for visibility.
Thanks for the quick response Glen97. Appreciate it. Yes, I was going to use a hairdryer. I think a heatgun is probably too hot, unless you use it from a distance. I certainly don't want to warp the bumper or damage the paint with too much heat.
What GTSHolgi said also makes sense and that's...
I am toying with the idea of removing the rear bumper Dodge emblem. Not that I mind the Viper being a Dodge, but since the new ones are SRT now, maybe the Dodge lettering is getting a little old
Question is, if I remove the letters, is the bumper painted beneath or was the bumper...
If you have ever driven an older sports car with a performance clutch, anything else will feel like a feather :) Serioulsy though, the clutch on my 99 RT10 is not heavier than most sports cars I have driven...and like BrianGTS said, the most popular years for Gen2 are 96-99, because of the cam...
Yes, I was referring to the fact that should a supercharged version come out, that would be the one to go for. Kind of like the V8 and V10 Audi R8. Of course the Viper will never be second rate.
Well, so far, all Vipers came with the same engine. By offering a supercharger, they would make the current models "base models", kind of like a regular Corvette vs a ZR1. That thought doesn't really tickle my fancy, since the majority of Viper owners would become 2nd rate owners.
GREAT video :) Jay is a 100% car guy. He's only doing his "other" job to finance his hobby :)
That stigma will always haunt the Viper...
If people ask, I tell them that the engine was actually co-developed with Lamborghini ;) ...and they don't believe it.
I was looking for RT10 videos on Youtube, and I see a silver one that sort of looks like mine...low and behold, it is mine:D Someone must have filmed it when I was pulling out of a parking lot. So here's my "unofficial" exhaust clip contribution. Just idle in the parking lot. I'll post a better...
