    Car&Driver:ZR1 beats the Viper...again

I'm still confused by the "bad seats" and "brake fade" complaints. Since 2003, the brakes have been damn good, and I've never heard anyone complain about fading issues. Is this the exact same car that MT tested, or did SRT fubar the brakes? With the brake hardware, did they just completely...

    2003 SRT-10 Overheating

Mine was leaking from the pulley area a couple of months ago and I had to change it out. Pretty easy job to do. Just got loaner tool from O'Reillys to pull the pulley off the old pump and it put it on the new one.

Has anyone Added a Led light to Trunk?

I haven't put anything in the trunk, but that's not a bad idea. I have push button LED work lights that I use, and it would be easy to stick one in the trunk. I might have to look into that. What I did do, was add some high powered LED light strips to work as back-up lights. I noticed that...

315 R6's up front on stock Gen III wheels?

Oh, I got plenty of use form the old ones. I've got a pretty good amount of camber in the car, but didn't swap left to right enough. I wore out the outside edge of the driver side and inside edge of the passenger side. It was weird though. They were low on tread, but not corded at all. The...

315 R6's up front on stock Gen III wheels?

Does anybody run 315's up front on the stock Gen III wheels? I've been running 295's, but shredded them both at my last track day and just wondering if 315's would give me issues. Car has stock suspension.

~Flying out now for my Viper~

Your quote about the tires being bad no matter how much tread is on them is 100% correct. However, the discounts on tires from VPA do not exist. The price is the same whether you are a member or not (and Venom or not).

Built motor too? 10 psi seems awfully high on a stock Gen III.

Has anyone removed the mufflers and replaced with straight pipe in a Gen 4?

I never actually drove it, so I never tried to make it through emissions here, but it would have been fine here. You're only going to get a CEL by deleting the cats (or certain brands of headers). I have M&M headers, no cats, and the Mopar Race Exhaust on mine. The CEL comes on initially, but...

Has anyone removed the mufflers and replaced with straight pipe in a Gen 4?

I cranked my Gen III up with open headers just for the hell of it. It sounded great at idle, but WAY to loud at high RPM's (and I've had some straight pipe exhaust cars before). It was fine on past cars, and would be fine with it on Gen II where the exhaust exits in the rear, but on a Gen...

    Modena vs Gen4.

The "engine out" service doesn't apply to 360 and newer models. I'm not saying you won't need to take the engine out for something someday, but the crazy part of that being in the regular maintenance is long gone. However, the cost of regular maintenance / repair, and the odds of having to do...

    Front Bumper Underside Protector

I don't know if you track the car or drive at high speeds very often, but I would worry about the front splitter creating downforce, but not having anything in the back to create downforce there as well. Seems like it could make the ass end pretty light.

    Rear differential at 13.6k miles?

You're nuts if you pay $3800 to have that diff rebuilt! Stock diff assemblies pop up for sale every now and then for way less. Hell, I've got one I'd let go for $800. Of course, going with a used diff, there's never any guaranties on how long it last, as it's a used part. However, you can buy...

    ooops!

That definitely doesn't make any sense. I run 1 qt over full all the time at the track and have never had any issues. Yes, the catch can fills up quicker when tracking with extra oil in the car, but that's what supposed to happen. If you were at the bottom marker and added basically a qt...

    ACR Track car value?

Honestly, since I track mine, buying a tracked Viper wouldn't worry me. But that's just me. In my eyes (and my experience), if a car has been tracked a lot, then the things that typically need to be upgraded, have been. I know whenever something goes wrong on mine, it gets replaced with an...

Need trailer to haul my 2008 ACR

Hell, you can pick up a pretty nice enclosed trailer for the price of an open aluminum one (or even cheaper), but weight is the problem. I thought about an aluminum trailer for mine, but since I had towed open steel trailers without a problem before I bought mine, I went the steel route for...

    R6 vs A6

For faster times and 110% driving, I completely agree. I got a lot of cycles out of my R's and could definitely tell the grip was going away, but they still gripped better than my street tires.

    R6 vs A6

Thanks guys. I like that Steve didn't have too much of an issue in the warmer temps. The vast majority of the tracks I'm going to be at are going to have higher temps since they're in the south. However, with NARRA being at RA earlier in the year, and that being the main time I plan on...
