    Brake torque spec

Rotors, yes. I guess I read it as he was just changing pads. I'll probably change my rotors and refinish my calipers again this winter.

Were you doing something else to the calipers that required you to take them off?

Proud new owner with questions of course

The list looks good, but if you plan on tracking the car (or even driving it hard a decent amount), I would use at least Motul 600 brake fluid in the brakes and clutch. With the higher boiling point, it will hold up better. You might also consider a 15W50 engine oil if you plan on tracking it.

    Rockland Gears Tranzilla T-56...WOW!!!

RPM's in 6th are definitely up on the hwy now. Oh well, what's a couple MPG? ;) I was having fun just leaving it in 6th and flooring it from 90. I couldn't believe how well it pulled.

    Rockland Gears Tranzilla T-56...WOW!!!

I run out of 4th at about 150 or so, so my choices have been to either hold it at redline for the last part of the straight or go to 5th. I went to 5th sometimes, but it honestly was a bit of a waste. I could keep pulling, but the drop off was so big, I usually just held 4th. I'll definitely...

    Rockland Gears Tranzilla T-56...WOW!!!

Still the single plate clutch. It's pretty new. Ummm.....Yeah. MGW shifter, but I had on my original transmission also. Not 100% sure. It's the Magnum Tranzilla for the Viper. I know I had to buy a new yoke because it's got 31 spline shaft and I had to slot the trans mounts .45". I...

    Rockland Gears Tranzilla T-56...WOW!!!

As most of you know I blew my trans at Road Atlanta last month. After talking to some places and getting costs, I decided to go with the Tranzilla Viper trans from Rockland Gears. HOLY ****!!! THIS THING IS AWESOME!!! It's a "built" transmission and while I obviously haven't had a chance...

    Track Insurance for VOI12

I could be wrong (it HAS happened before), but my understanding is that it just has to be an approved HPDE event. Otherwise, only beginners could get it. When I bought it the first time, they just stressed that any racing (including TT) was not covered.

    Track Insurance for VOI12

You don't have to have an instructor in the car with you. It just has to be a qualified HPDE event where instruction is offered. You can be in HPDE 1, 2, 3, or 4. TT, racing, etc is not covered.

    Top Gear Gen V Review

Love the last bit. "Should I buy one? If you want the bargain supercar of the decade, absolutely. The steering wheel is on the wrong side, it swigs petrol - bucking the industry trend for super efficiency the new car has a worse fuel consumption rating than the outgoing model - and it'll...

    Problem with tranny ?

I checked with Jon when I was looking at options and all he had in Gen III version was one with 27k on it for $1695 (plus a core charge). Wasn't worth it in my case, so I bought a Tranzilla T56 from Rockland Gears.

    Blocking threads/posts by VCA Twitter?

Good call. I put a link to this thread in a new one on the Site Suggestions.

Keep the Twitter crap out of the "New Posts" category!

    Blocking threads/posts by VCA Twitter?

Yep. I've never used the "ignore" feature before, but it apparently doesn't work like I thought.

    Blocking threads/posts by VCA Twitter?

OK, I put VCA Twitter on my ignore list, but when I go to New Posts, it's all still littered with post after post of crap from Twitter feeds. Is there a way to completely block seeing any posts or threads started from this stupid thing? I want to hit New Posts and read through the list to...

    Dash Lighting Comparison Photos!

I changed every light inside the car to blue LED and love it. I agree with the others that there is no need to remove the steering wheel. Looking back, it might have made it easier, but I did just fine leaving it in place.

    Track Insurance for VOI12

The "track insurance" is just to cover you while you are on the track. It's not supplemental to your regular insurance, it's completely separate. Your regular insurance will not cover anything that happens on a track. Your standard policy used to cover you on a track as long as it was "not a...

    Salvage title vipers?

Very true that you can buy lower and sell lower, so it's a wash. The problem that could come up when you try to sell it, is that you will be pretty much limited to people with cash. I don't think many banks will give a loan to buy a car with a salvage title.

    nothing but problems

Honestly? How many threads are you going to start or jump in on about this? I don't know Steve and have never had any dealings with him, so I'm not "coming to his defense". I would be pissed as hell if I had issues also, but you don't need to start multiple threads and post in every thread...

    Time for a new transmission...

Well, looks like I'm gonna blow the original budget I originally had in mind, but might as well do it right the first time. Stock input and counter shafts are not easy to come by right now and the price to rebuild it stock isn't cheap anyway. For not much more money, it looks like a Tranzilla...

    Set of 2004 Run-flats

About the only thing "safe" to do with those tires is to make a table or some kind of garage art out of them. Hell, I had a set of rear PS2's that were only a few year old and had a little life lef ton them, that I tried to give away to anyone that might be in a pinch. I got one guy who...

anyone know how to remove the tail lights and headlights?

Now I see why it wont come out! lol There is one inside the trunk and the other two are the ones you see once you remove the plastic cover. I assume you found those two, but you're missing the one that's inside the actual trunk of the car.
