Just got back from a weekend at Roebling with Flatout. We took the TR's down there to learn the track and se how we'd do.
This is just the first raw vid from my front facing camera, but trying to get all of the PIP with the rear view and Traqmate data overlaid might take a little while...
Yep. Yanking the visors was one of the first things I did. I never used them and they looked stupid sticking up above the windshield with the top down.
I've got a similar set-up like LifeIsGood, but I did a chrome extinguisher with quick release and then fabbed my own aluminum bracket to mount it with the front bolts of the passenger seat. Unfortunately I can't post pics because I'm not a member anymore and don't feel like going through and...
Hmmm...mine have been loose since the first time I ever took them off, so I never even knew they were supposed to be glued in place. lol
I just always put them back in there and they hold themselves in place. Guess I'll try re-attaching them next time I have the sills off. It will make...
I've busted 2 of them and always hand thread and then use a torque wrench. Both of mine were after track events when I was back home and putting the street tires back on. I was taking the lugnuts off and the lugnut became locked onto the stud. I had to put a big ass pipe over a breaker bar...
I guess it's possible to do it with the hub on the car, but damn, that would be tight to try to do it that way. The hubs aren't hard to get off and it's much easier to change them when you have some room to move everything around.
Not correct at all.
I've broken a few, pulled the hub and replaced the studs. Nothing to it.
I think the hubs are from a Dodge Dakota if I remember correctly, but either way, I just went to Oreilly's. I told them the make and model of the car, and they looked up the correct studs.
Track Days in Savannah @ Roebling Road--8/17 & 8/18
August 17 at 8:00am until August 18 at 5:00pm
So far, 3 Vipers are already signed up.
2 days on Roebling Raceway only with only 60 cars total. Roebling is 2.02 miles long and has a 103db sound limit. The fee for an entire weekend of...
Not sure if this is re-post, and I don't want to take the time to look through everything right now, but SPEED channel is running a special on the history and return of the Viper (racing and street).
I think the Vette looks damn good, but Zentenk nailed it. Let them be out on the streets for a year and it will just be something you see 50 of every day and it won't have near the "cool" factor it does now.
Are you talking about the multiple stripes running the length of the pic? It's hard to tell from the picture, but there's no way that THOSE lines are from waxing it. It honestly looks like a reflection. That, or there's something really weird going on with the car. Those stripes are...
I always loved the look of the NSX (especially with the Wings West lower body pieces), and looked at picking one up, but they just don't make any power. They handle great (for a car of it's time), but it seems even the supercharged/turbo ones are still extremely weak in the motor dept.
I guess I read it a little differently. Reading the whole thing, it looks like he wants to build some other cars that are SRT only, not an upgraded version of Dodge/Chrysler models. Since the Viper is the only car like that currently, he referred to it as a "baby Viper" in that sense. I...
A lot of it comes from bedding the pads correctly.
When I bought my car, it had EBC Reds on it and they squealed like no tomorrow. I tried the brake quiet grease, hitting them and the rotors with some sandpaper and re-bedding a few times, but nothing would get rid of it. I know a lot of guys...
It's been mentioned by a few people, but the club changing is driving the site changes.
There are a lot of "enthusiasts" now who post a lot less, or not at all, because of the way things have changed around here. A lot of the technical help and knowledgeable people / vendors, have either been...
Who is this newb "Viper Specialty" trying to act like he knows anything about Vipers? Just because you made a screen name that sounds like you know something, you expect us all to believe that you actually do? Come back when you have some actual experience that you can enlighten us with...
I put 3.33's in mine and I think I actually gained top end because I can keep pulling in 6th. I ran an indicated 197-198 in 6th gear with the 3.33's and still had more to go, but ran out of road (in Mexico of course). I know speedos aren't necessarily all that accurate up high, but it's all I...
I remember seeing a Black Series car at one event at Road Atlanta last year, but I can't remember if it was running or not. I've heard the same thing about AMP not being a great track for Vipers, but I haven't run it either due to noise restrictions. I just put a new muffler on the Thunder...
I used TAL Airplane Stripper to get the red paint the previous owner had put on them off (it was brushed on and looked like crap). Just BE CAREFUL with it and wear long sleeves and chemical resistant rubber gloves.
It comes in a spray can and works very well, but burns like hell if you get it...
