Are you pretty sure it was a '98? Did it have "98" on the car somewhere? I can't tell a red 97 to 2002 apart unless I see the interior, and even then can't get the exact year.
As for smog. Valaya is the place to go. Just got mine smogged a few weeks ago... no hassles, and I'm not completely...
I think that's what I'm smelling. That's why I didn't think it smelled too much like oil or coolant. But taking the carpet off doesn't look too hard and I'll try looking under the hood too for good measure.
That sounds right... especially when the windows are down. Will check in the morning. I actually remember reading that thread too... never occurred to me. Good timing... I was about to WOT on my neighbors. :D
Thanks!
hmmm... that might be the case. My Vipertech told me I had a very small leak and that I should start looking into getting my radiator repaired or replaced.
Doesn't quite smell like burning oil... it's "smoky", but it could be just thinned out from the wind.
Martin- the smell was there before I changed the oil.
Lately I've been noticing if I get on it hard for a bit, I smell a burning smell... maybe oil? I can't quite tell. Just changed oil but still smell it. Any ideas?
You have to also consider that since 2001, Chrysler hasn't been racing the Viper anywhere, except maybe in the drifting world. Back in the late 90's early 2000's, the Viper won everything and was mentioned everywhere. Mags reported an increase in sales every time a Viper was on the cover. The...
I don't even know why we even bother with these threads... what is this? 4 in less than a month? How about a thread termination with extreme prejudice?
It's not the ipod... it's the momentary lapse in attention while doing something else. Same thing would have happened changing CD's talking on the phone, eating, etc.
Hey... you said you were gonna PM me when you get here. I thought you were just chicken. :p
Besides, it's raining like all heck now... unless you wanna go at it in the wet with a racquetball. Been there done that.
I wasn't equating a newborn to a Viper. I was using an exaggerated and easily visualized example to drive home a point... which is his friend's disregard of something precious that was handed to him by a supposedly good friend.
You know... when a mom pulls the "If your friends jump off a...
Forget schooling... the only lesson worth learning is how to tell who is a friend and who isn't. This guy is NOT a friend. He is obviously jealous of you, and even if he didn't intentionally wreck you car, he had no fear of doing so. That shows a lack of respect for you and your possession. If...
I didnt know vette owners were so damn eloquent and good looking.
Never said either car wasn't amazing... just putting things into perspective considering the trolling we've had here as of late. Why don't you go to the vette boards and pick some fights there. :spank:
I own 2 Lutz cars as well... my 97 Viper and my 06 GTO (Lutz drove it in Australia and loved it so much he ok'd it for Pontiac).
Here's to hoping for a secret Viper purchase by Lutz and crew. :)
The amazing thing is 4 seconds is a LONG time between cars going +100. The vette might hold it's own pretty well at the drag strip, but you can make almost anything go fast in a straight line for a short duration. I guess vettes just don't have the stamina... gives a whole new meaning to the...
