    Are you pretty sure it was a '98? Did it have "98" on the car somewhere? I can't tell a red 97 to 2002 apart unless I see the interior, and even then can't get the exact year. As for smog. Valaya is the place to go. Just got mine smogged a few weeks ago... no hassles, and I'm not completely...

    I think that's what I'm smelling. That's why I didn't think it smelled too much like oil or coolant. But taking the carpet off doesn't look too hard and I'll try looking under the hood too for good measure.

    hmmm... that might be the case. My Vipertech told me I had a very small leak and that I should start looking into getting my radiator repaired or replaced.

    Doesn't quite smell like burning oil... it's "smoky", but it could be just thinned out from the wind. Martin- the smell was there before I changed the oil.

    It's not the ipod... it's the momentary lapse in attention while doing something else. Same thing would have happened changing CD's talking on the phone, eating, etc.

    I own 2 Lutz cars as well... my 97 Viper and my 06 GTO (Lutz drove it in Australia and loved it so much he ok'd it for Pontiac). Here's to hoping for a secret Viper purchase by Lutz and crew. :)
