    I need some support - head gaskets

    After checking around, I've found that the preferred service technique on old Vipers like mine is head gasket change. No one is interested in pulling a motor from a car that is beyond the 3/36. I guess the 7/70 works just not the same way.

    Got a question for 1st gen RT/10 owners...

    When the car was show room stock, I managed a 12.79 w/1.9 @ 60'. I've seen others do 12.3 as well.

    winter storage - battery related

    I am not an expert but... I would disconnect the red battery cable at the jump post and place the tender on the loose battery lead.

    The local grocery store has 1:24 Burango white 1992 RT's. Grey interior and red emblems. I thought this was unusual. Let me know if your interested.

    I used JonB's advice and had my '94 inspected for coolants leaks before the 7/70 ran out. Guess what. No coolants leaks but... Oil leaking from the head gasket. Technician Mike has replaced head gaskets on some Vipers and sent one engine in to Arrows. Winter is just beginning to descend on...

    Re: Northwind Engineering 2\" seat lowering kit I used the 2" kit in my 1994. The posts face up & forward. The short posts go in the back. The longer posts go in the front. Finger tight on the floor then finger tight on the seat-frame. After everything is lined up then tighten things down.

    Hood Weight Problem...More for Jon_B??

    I had the hood replaced on my '94 with a newer hood in 1997. All I can tell yoou is that I got home, raised the hood, called the dealer and installed new springs. There maybe something to this.

    Yes, I think your right. You can change the return springs or purchase thin sole wrestling shoes or Nomex driving shoes.

    reading the oil dipstick

    It maybe that you are no letting the oil settle down into the oil pan. It takes some time for that last 1/4 quart to work it's way down from the V10 rocker gear. I've never used any oil between 3000 mi oil changes.
