I think that by allowing a GTS to get a SRT hood it devalues the GTS exclusivity. It dilutes the distinction between a "premium" car and a "base" version. Another bad move by SRT IMO.
Heck I have paddles on my Mini Cooper S @$33,000 (includes tax )...... I agree paddles dumb down the driving experience and take all the fun/ skillout of really driving a car however, for a $140k car not to have them as a option is silly in today's high end market...

You have to make any product "Hard to get but, easy to buy".
SRT has done just the opposite. (The Viper is easy to get as there are sitting on dealer lots. It is hard to buy because of dealer mark ups and @$#% ups.)
