David you are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing. Sure wish I could have seen you overhaul the entire field when you started at the rear. Did you video the race from inside your car? I've watched your other videos with much pleasure. I'm too damned old to do that so it's a big kick for me to see you...
Boy was that fun to watch--great driving--looked to be on the edge a couple of times. I really appreciate being able to see how well these cars accelerate and handle. For an old chicken guy like me you provided a special treat--thanks so much--Dave
There is no good answer--you're in trouble either way--take her and she's uncomfortable, leave her and she will think about the trip all the time you are gone. Like she said it's your decision--not me--I'd pass--Dave
It makes no sense to me at all that someone would purchase a wrecked car for the same price as the car was before the wreck. Most folks on this forum would run, not walk, from the deal--Dave
The laminated avitars would work well for me as I don't always know the persons name, but I would recognize the avitar and then be able to put a name with the avitar. My 2 cents worth--Dave
I keep asking if the Gen5 has the same faulty window mechanism that SRT will not stand behind in the Gen3 and Gen 4?? I asked the Grail Keeper and in another thread that was started on the Gen5. I"m sure going to press the question at the VOI in Charlotte. Does anyone else think that this should...
MTGTS--
I got an e-mail from Cathy last week regarding the event--she wanted to know what options I wanted it terms of participation. I had the impression that they have a nice turn out coming. I can get her e-mail address for you if you want and you can contact her--PM me if you want that--Dave
My problem is that I live on an island about 1 mile to the bridge. I have to drive by nice homes so I just want to cool it--shift from 1st around 12-1500 RPM to keep noise and speed down. The skip shift forces me into 4th which bogs everything down. It's a pain to shift to 4th then back to 2nd...
I live on an island about 1 mile to the bridge driving past nice homes. I like to keep revs low for noise and fight the skip shift feature all the time. I just want to go to 2nd after 1500 RPM or so in 1st and not bog down in 4th--what a pain to shift to 4th and back to 2nd then 3rd. I'll bet a...
David--
That was a fantastic result for you. To be able to be competitive with Ben Keating with all his experience and know how I think is terrific. I also agree that Ben is a great guy. Had the pleasure of meeting him at the NARRA race in Daytona last May. He was most gracious to my wife and...
Marv--
I'd like to know if the Gen 5 still has the same window regulator mechanism that the Gen 3 and Gen 4 has. I've asked the Grail Keeper also if he knows from some of his buddies. I'm asking, not to be a party downer, but to kind of make a point with SRT that they really need to step up...
I plan on owning a Gen 5 to go with my Gen 3 and 4. How soon people forget the tremendous performance the Gen 3 was over the Gen 2, and how great the Gen 4 still is.
Nothing wrong with a garage queen. I use mine occasionally, but when I do it's such a special treat. I enjoy looking at beautiful cars in my man cave almost as much as I like driving them. Guess I'm weird, but happy--Dave
Be careful on light colored cars as the film will discolor over time and can be seen on light colored cars. The film can be a PITA to remove without paint damage. Also if the film gets a stone impact the blemish on the film looks as bad as a paint chip. At least that's been my experience--Dave
Be very careful with clear bra on light color cars--the film will discolor over time and depending on the light you will be able to see it after 5 yrs or so. Happened to me on a white Ford GT that I thought I was protecting. Costly to remove with possible paint damage--Dave
