You are so right that the Viper can be driven "sanely" and still have a lot of fun. It's a great car, very comfortable and reliable. I too respect the car as I realize that I do not have the ability to run the car at it's max. I guess some others should have done that also based on...
God those are beautiful--I'm guessing that you could take blocks that are not serviceable, paint the exterior and add top sides and sell them as art for garages and family rooms. I'd be interested--Dave
It's amazing that in all this performance discussion there is no mention of the much better performance that a dual clutch auto provides. Even the Viper race cars are dual clutch autos as well as all F1 cars and Porsche GT3 cars among others. In terms of raising the V10 performance, why not...
I never tried to lock the doors with the FOB after activating the sleep mode. If I just activate the sleep mode the doors definitely do not lock automatically. Interesting--Dave
In my 2005 and 2010 the sleep mode does not lock the car. I can enter by merely lifting the door handle. The alarm is also deactivated in sleep mode. I think the idea is that the sleep mode shuts down many power draining features such as the alarm.
I spoke with John Gastman from Roanoke CJD who would custom paint the blue stripes on a factory white car, however I'd rather have that from the factory--Dave
One thing for certain is that our Vipers will not be on every street as the Vette will. I remember seeing the ZR1 for the first time and it looked like every other Vette until I took a closer look. I'm not sure as a buyer I'd like to spend ZR1 $ and not be as distinctive as the Viper is. ---Dave
Silver04--
That's the type of post we really don't need anymore. Let's just discuss the Viper at this point or other positive constructive issues, as I really think that everything negative has already been said.--Dave
Wanted--
I did not want to upset you or question your loyalty to the VCA. I guess I'm just responding to the constant negative posts by other enthusiasts that are still being posted even today. I also think that our costs are very low for membership, however if you do not currently own a...
As I said in other posts, I'm very tired of the negativity from non members (enthusiasts)--if you have decided to leave-- LEAVE. I'd really like ALL clubs to restrict posting to members only. "Enthusiasts" could look at various site areas but not post. That way all clubs can be rid of the...
A reasonable dinner out for 2 would buy a Venom membership, let alone a regular membership. If you have owned 5 Vipers as you claim and want to do that again this decade, I find it hard to understand why you cannot afford to join. Your asking for a "junior membership"--what do you expect to...
I know I'm opening a hateful response, however I'm sick and tired of "enthusiasts" bad mouthing our site. I'd love it if "enthusiasts" were only allowed to view certain areas and not allowed to post. This would avoid most of the hateful, nasty, and frankly needless criticism of our site. I can...
