    Check engine light?!?!

Check to make sure you plugged back in the IAT sensor (passenger side, lower end of airbox. For it to come back on that fast, something sounds like it is disconnected. Check other connections like the TPS sensor (driver side throttle body), and the Idle air tube, etc.. Then reset the computer...

Gen I engine has shipped from Arrow...Yaahoooo! Report included

In the top of your post you state: 3. Cam bearings wear a bit high. Re-bored and installed oversized bearings (unusual I was told). There are no cam bearings in the Viper engine. Does this mean they added cam bearings? If so...boy are you lucky! Probably making noticeably more horsepower now...

Gentlemen, now get the transmission ratios Dodge SHOULD have put into the Viper!

We have been working on a similar solution that uses your stock tranny and just upgrades the 5th and 6th gears. We may either sell the parts in kit form, or upgrade transmissions sent to us. We expect the total tranny transformation to be around $2k. We'll keep you updated. If anyone is...

    Fluidine Radiator fan

We have installed the Fluidyne radiator on several 99+ Vipers and still retain the stock air box setup. It requires modifying the fan shroud, using some heat to reshape the bottom of the box, and some extra covering. Works great.

    Nitrous reliability

Snakester- If you have some time, stop by the shop. I'll be more than happy to talk to you about the different options, pros/cons, etc.. We have installed all 3 types of systems: dry, wet,and nitrous/propane. Some work much better than others. I also have an RPM window switch calibrated for...

CORSA LETHAL 500 I'M SMILING BIG NOW

Re: CORSA LETHAL 500 I\'M SMILING BIG NOW Dennis- Great to see you are pleased with the sound and performance of the LETHAL 500 package on your 2001 RT/10. Looks like we are in for some good weather over the next few days. Look forward to strapping your car down to the dyno to compare the...

    Best high flow cats?

Dean- Thanks for stopping by the shop last weekend. You may have seen my 2001 Yellow ACR there. We install plenty of high flow cats on the Vipers. We offer both 2.5" and 3" cats for the Viper. Since you are using the CORSA 2.5" system for your Viper, I would recommend the 2.5" cats. We always...

StopTech, rim sizes & drag radials

Here are some of the answers to your questions: 1) Not all 18" wheels will fit the StopTech 14" 4-wheel kit. I know there was someone with Kinesis wheels that had a problem, so an 18" HRE may not work either. The 18" ACR wheels and stock 18" Viper wheels work, and I believe CCW makes a wheel...

Tricking the Mass Airflow sensor//voltage resistance

We have tried using variable resistors on the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor like you are talking about. It doesn't really do too much for the Vipers. The reason is because the IAT sensor is in the airbox, so it doesn't really get hot like it does in other cars that have the sensors placed...

    Throttle Bodies

Marc- We played around with a few different sizes on the dyno. We found the 70mm more flow than necessary and caused a slight loss in power. I would recommend 65mm or 68mm instead. We will be finalizing our 65mm and 68mm throttle bodies in the next couple weeks. They are very trick looking and...

    Lingenfelter

Great dialogue so far. Chris- Getting back to orginal questions... Lingenfelter does good work and they have a solid business. I am not sure that they necessarily make much more N/A power than other tuners though when the modifications are compared. The rule of thumb everyone needs to keep in...

    viper is stalling out

Before you try anything (and there is no check engine light), I would recommend that you check your battery to make sure it is fully charged. Hook up a charger to it and bring it up to full charge. Then start it up, and carefully drive it down your block bringing it to a stop several times...

Will Mopar Comp. Stop Catless C/E

Tony- To answer your questions: 1) Chances are that you will get a check engine light with a 'primary cat failure' code. 2) Your car will also surge at light throttle rpms which tells me that it does effect the computer at light throttle loads. 3) It should not make your car go into 'limp' mode...

    Material used in Venzano seats?

Matt- Tony uses leather, leather, and more leather in his seats. The logos are hand cut leather, and usually consist of 2-3 layers. Leather is dyed for great color match. I'll try to send you some pics of his work since we are a Venzano dealer. I'll try and call you tomorrow. -Wayne (LTHL VPR)

I need about 25 more RWHP. I can spend $1,000. Any suggestions?

Joe- Call me at the shop tomorrow. Perhaps I can help you reach your goals. If you are interested in true hp (as you indicate) as opposed to SOTP, your options are limited, but you may be able to hit your target. Hope to hear from you. -Wayne (LTHL VPR)

    Detonation Problems in my GTS

Brad- Sorry to hear about teh detonation problems. Sounds like you are on the right track.... For reference, any of our high performance packages include an upgraded radiator and thermo to keep engine temps down. Even with our 650 package on, the temps stay around 180 during normal driving...

    Dyno Question

Justy for reference and clarification, when I posted: It is discussions like these that make me feel better about the fact our dyno tends to be on the 'conservative' side. For example, we have never seen a Viper with headers and exhaust ever hit more than about 445rwhp, and on average are...

    Dyno Question

1badgts is correct, and they are MANY more ways someone could 'alter' the numbers including the placement of the measuring equipment, adjusting altitude, bar, pressure, changing correction factors, etc....and the list goes on! And to top it off, not all dynos are the same either. There are...

Picking her up from APEX tomorrow

Matt- Those results were with our standard package which includes K&Ns, smooth tubes, Belanger headers, high flow cats, and a CORSA cat-back system. He is still using the stock rockers. We don't recommend rockers for street cars until you upgrade to the LETHAL 600 Package which also includes...

    Cam specs

Mako- The car idles great; especially after we custom tuned the computer. The cam is not as aggressive as one might think, it just uses the right combination of parts. Many of the Nor Cal members have had a chance to see and hear the car; lots of thumbs up. I was debating on the 2003, and have...

    Cam specs

Mako- APEX Motorsports is located in CA. We make sure all of our packages will pass the strict CA emission sniffers including our LETHAL 650 (stock bottom end)! Keep in mind that the right combination of parts makes a BIG Difference! With our custom ground cam we make a great flat torque curve...
