Getting ready to buy VEC 1 - other options??

We offer both the ROE racing controllers and Dastek Unichip custom piggyback computers. As already mentioned, the Roe controller works good for do minor tuning on relatively stock cars. If you are modifying your engine internals it's worth the money to get a custom tuned program. We tune cars...

    542/543 ci upgrade -- NON-LPE

Sheyster- There are affordable options for you on the west coast. As 1Badgts mentioned, Dan Cragin has experience in this area and is located in So Cal. APEX Motorsports is located in the San Jose/Bay Area and we have researched this option as well. So far, using a STOCK BOTTOM END, our LETHAL...

    My Venom 600 Dyno Sheets

Great numbers! Is that just a regular Venom 600, or does it have a built 514 stroker too as you indicate in your sig? Have fun!! -Wayne

    Cam specs

In answer to your second question about power: My 2001 ACR stock: 398 rwhp 442 rwtq Add APEX LETHAL 650: 576 rwhp, 603 rwtq (cam, heads, headers/exhaust, rockers, TBs, and airbox are the main power mods...and it passes smog!) You will see the best results if you match your cam with your heads...

    Cam specs

Keep in mind, the numbers you have are the ADVERTISED numbers which you should ignore. There is no real correlation between advertised and @.050. Every cam is normally ground using the ' @.050" '. If you grind a cam coapred to the actual numbers, you will have problems. Good Luck. -Wayne

    Dyno with a 3.55 gear

We have about a dozen of so 2000-2001 Vipers in our dyno database. For these years, typically, we see about 30-35rwhp gain with Belanger headers, exhaust and high flow cats (earlier years are closer to 45-50rwhp). On average, a stock 2000-01 pulls about 400rwhp and 442ft/lbs. After mods around...

    Replacement Battery

Sit tight... We are finalizing a battery kit this week. It took longer than we anticipated because we've been busy working on customer cars. The final pieces are in and we will do the final test fitting this weekend. The battery kit consists of a NICE billet mount, a 'dry cell' (no leaking)...

Best heads and cam combo for '00?

Re: Best heads and cam combo for \'00? Great question! Many people don't understand the importance of matching the camshaft with the heads. Since we performed just about all of the installation work on Ben Treynor's 00 RT/10 (treynor) including heads, headers, NOS/Propane kit, etc.. at our...

    Dyno Numbers

I concur with the other posts. Right around 400 rwhp is the average. We have a couple dozen 2000-20001 Vipers in our dynojet database. However, the numbers are only as accurate as the dynojet calibrations, software version, inputs, etc... Every dyno is different, and it's common to get different...

    Cat removal??

We have done some cat and cat-less testing (with my 98 GTS and 2001 ACR) using our in-house dynojet. While removing the cat may sound like a great idea, we did not observe noticeable power gains until we upgraded the headers as well. My recommendation to you would be to use high flow cats which...

Good Dodge dealership in Northern California, Bay Area for warranty work?

Our Viper shop is only minutes away from Stevens Creek Dodge. We rely and recommend them for all warranty work on Vipers. Ben does a great, thorough job; I trusted him with my 2001 ACR. Good luck. -Wayne (LTHL VPR)

    Tire sizes??

There are only a couple options for tire sizes based upon your wheel sizes. The 345mm tire is available, but I believe that sidewall is larger so the rear of your car will ride 1/2"+ higher. Unless you have adjustable suspesion, your handling may actually suffer and the car may not be balanced...

    Corner Balancing

Jeff- Good question. Corner weighting is done using scales on all 4 corners. By adjusting suspension settings, ride height, and sometimes the use of shims, the car can be properly set for the driver's weight. It works great, but I personally think it is not be necessary for a primarily street...

    Factory Clutch or upgrade

Some great points made here. Paul- As many mention here; the factory clutch is not too shabby and is high quality. We have had great results with our dual kevlar clutch upgrade. I think it offers the best of both worlds: inexpensive, uses the stock clutch piece, and upgrades to a stonger disc...

    Crower camshaft

Good replies. I thought it might be helpful to contribute some additional information. Jacky mentioned it's a 99. The camshaft in a 99 is not very aggressive. I also noticed that there is only mention of a camshaft. I would highly recommend that anyone who considers a camshaft upgrade should...

GT2&ACR'S - 5-POINT BELTS - FIRST ONE TO DO IT!!

Re: GT2&ACR\'S - 5-POINT BELTS - FIRST ONE TO DO IT!! Chuck- Can't wait to receive my new/replacement belts from you! Thanks for your assistance. I was debating on what belt to replace mine with on my 2001 ACR. Decided on the stock look for with the "ACR" logo. Othewise I was going to go with...

Does anybody out there have CDI Headers?

We have tested just about every header and exhaust combination available in the market on our in-house dynojet. The 2 we prefer are the Belangers and CDI headers. They seem to make the best power and fit well for most year Vipers. I used the Belangers on my 98 GTS and the CDI headers on the...

    Custom ECU programming?

We are not too far away..... When used in combination with our in-house dynojet, and our engine monitoring software, our Viper PCM programming software works well. What level of modifications do you have, and how certain are you that your car requires computer tuning? We have been using the...

K&N FIPK, Is this any good?

Our dyno testing has shown the good 'ol smooth tubes and K&N panels work the best, and even better, they are the least expensive alternative. We tried the K&N box and lost power (probably due to the tight bends in the tubes), and most other systems didn't show any gain over the smooth...
