    Cam Changes with Year

For everyone who posted, I believe the numbers you are quoting are ADVERTISED numbers which normally don't mean much. What you really want to look at is @.50, the industry standard. I tried to see if there was a formula/correlation for converting advertised numbers but is seems to have a huge...

    Coolant Problems

You may want to check the water pump. We have found a couple cars with bad pumps. Had similar symptoms. Also may want to check the thermo to make sure it's not sticking, and the thermo housing to make sure there are no rough edges that can cause the thermo to not open completely. Hope this...

    Archer headers

Since I have joined the team at Apex Motorsports, we have had a chance to dyno a few sets of the CDI/Archer headers, as well as several sets of competitive headers from Belanger, and others. We are truly an objective shop (we don't build any headers) and out mission is to supply the Viper World...

    Car burning very rich, Help.

The reason your eyes water is because you have no cats. You can solve this problem by getting a pair of cats. You will probably loose some (5-7hp) by doing this. We have done dozens of dyno runs at Apex Motorsports to prove this. We do offer hi-flow cats for you car. E-mail me privately or call...

Do you have a 2001 with the Jet Perf Skipshift?

I just put mine in on my 2001 ACR yesterday. Drove it for a while. Sure enough...it works! And no light! Got mine from Apex Motorsports. They keep them in stock and had a great price!

    lower octane in California

This is not good news at all! I know several other people in regions where 91 was the highest Octane rating, they were forced to go with colder plugs. The problem is that I have seen colder plugs cause a loss of 10-15hp&tq+. In addition, even when adding simple bolts on like headers and exhaust...

    Cam removal/installation tricks

I am planning to do heads, intake, rockers, and TBs; all of which can be done with the engine in the car. I am debating whether or not to do a cam as well. I think the only way to do this requires engine removal. I assume this would add considerable time to the installation. Any thoughts? Is it...

Who do you think is the best tuner?

Here's a vote for Albert! I have ordered several things from him. No problems whatsoever! Very smooth to work with, won't charge you until the item is shipped, and follows up with you to ensure your satisfaction. Wish more tuners were as pleasant to work with as him.

    Rattle: Emergency Brake Button

I have a 2001 ACR, and I got it. I have tried dynomat on several areas, including the latch area, and it is still present. I can still hear it even with the stereo on and an aftermarket exhaust.

Need help keeping air box clip on w/broken plastic tab!

One of the plastic tab pieces that holds the metal air box clips in place is broken. Now, the clip will not stay in place and falls off. It seems like these little plastic tabs are quite fragile and susceptible to breaking. I am sure that many before me have had this happen. What is the fix to...

    568 rwhp

Great numbers! Iwas slightly confused by your post in a couple areas: I think you mention that it is a stock bottom end, but then say the shop installed a cam. In that case, it's not really a stock bottom end. Either way, I would love to see what mods were done to make this....

Stock heads cc volume? (GEN II)

    Melting Sill......

This happened on the passenger side of my 2001 ACR w/ 600 miles on it. After realizing what's involved with replacing it, I decided to have them try to grind it out and paint it. In the end, it looked better than from the factory. It only took a few hours too! I would definitely recommend this...

Help with Clifford Setup on my Viper

Check both fuse boxes for possible blown fuses. If all is OK, then try disconnecting alarm and starting, or try arming the system while you are in the car and starting it. One way or another you sould quickly be able to tell what the source of the problem is. -Wayne

Solution for 2001 check engine light w/ exhaust mods?

Here are some thoughts and potential ways to solve this problem: 1) If it's an O2 heater code: Try relocating the primary O2 sensor (driver side) closer to the block. All you need to do is purchase an O2 bung from local muffler shop(cheap) and have someone install it in one of the primary areas...

    HELP - Cooling system weirdness!

Ben- If you still want to bring your car to Apex tomorrow, I can bring down (or bring over to your house) my EASCAN software that will tell you exactly whatr the PCM is seeing for temp, air intake, and just about any other sensor you wish. I thought it might be good to have it plugged in and...

Please put me out of my misery concerning headers! Help!

Well... keep in mind that the 2000-2001 Vipers don't seem to respond as well to exahust mods as the earlier cars. They use a diff. cam with less overlap,etc... However you should still be able to see decent gains with a complete exhaust upgrade...headers and cat-back (30-40 rwhp). If you will be...
