I designed and patented a water injection system for use on supercharged intercooled engines about 10 years ago. It worked great on my test vehicle at 20psi boost. If you're interested get in touch
Mine is just like that too. Idle with my headers, cats and system sounds really lumpy and cammy -- excellent. But I know what you mean about it being a little unpleasant in slow traffic
Thanks for the info, I'll try that as soon as I've finished all my mods which seem to be taking all my spare time over the last couple of weeks. I will emerge from the laboratory soon with a reborn viper !
This weekend I hope to finish installing my Bellanger headers,hi-flo cats,Borla system combination. When I refit the sill outers should I refit the insulation that sits around the cat and silencer. I don't mean that bit attached to the frame, just the bit that sits inside the sill. I hope the...
Be careful with clear powdercoating, I had some motorcycle wheels done and it didn't look to good and flaked badly. If you do it make sure you see sample work first. I ended up having the wheels silver anodised --- looked good and didn't corrode.

I agree absolutely with your assessment of the performance. My initial impression was lots of torque and not much top end. Fitting KNs and removing the restrictor made a useful difference, pulling much better up top. I've just removed the standard exhaust and headers, they are horrible...
I'm ready to fit my Belanger headers and need to reroute the drivers sensor. Where is the adjustment for the serpentine belt and what way do I reroute the wire around the air con pump. Are there any pics anywhere? I'm working without a workshop manual.
I'm definitely not going to prod this topic any further. This is the viper forum and I guess I didn't realise my humble everyday little celica was such a piece of **** . But its a lot better than a cougar.
I really like the new celica shape, and I definitely am pleased with the look of mine(17" wheels, thunder gray colour,no less) but some people equally dislike the shape - and usually tell me so ! But its still not a viper
Removed my standard headers today in prep for fitting my new system. The header to head exhaust gaskets were fitted UPSIDE DOWN. They looked as if they were correct before removal as the strip joining the gaskets was lined up with the strip joining the flanges, ie at the bottom. However on...
I've got a 2001 190bhp celica. Its a great car and may be the best allrounder I've had, but no way is it in the same league as my viper, like most jap cars its super efficient but just lacks character. It doesnt inspire me to go on the celica forum. But it sure sounds good when it hits 6k and...
Has anyone used the front foglight location as an air inlet point for air to be vented to the front discs. I know its a bit to far outboard a position to be ideal but with some nifty ducting it might make a neat installation. Its probably been done already, if so,are there any photos
Just went to disconnect the battery at the underhood jump start point and it seems to have seized the nut to the threaded post. Tried a fair bit of force but the whole thing, leads and all is starting to turn and bend. Can I put a wrench somewhere underneath to stop it turning or would a heat gun...
Thanks Fred. Thats a good point and may be a good enough reason not to use copper but in order for corrosion to take place there must be an electrolyte ie moisture as in the sidesills. the main purpose of using antiseize on plug threads is to prevent galling, I think. . I'm a little unsure of my...
Thanks, that glop sounds very useful, I think I remember something similar a few years ago (for protecting alloy wheels), which never really succeeded on the market. But being a sucker for new products I tried it. It did work quite well.
I'll be fitting Bellanger headers soon and at the same time fitting new plugs(RC12LYC?). I noticed in a recent post that Jerry Scott said "Next time use a good non-copper anti-sieze compound on all plugs, like the one that Griot's Garage sells".
Why non copper? I've always used copper grease on...
I had a perhaps similar problem on my V8 sprint/hillclimb car. High cornering force would allow oil to be thrown up the block sidewalls where it got generally whipped and aerated allowing air to be pumped into the hydraulic lifters and causing major lifter noise. Never showed an oil light and I...
