I was told you bed the rotors once and as long as you keep using the same pad material, no need to scuff the rotors and do it again. The new pads will conform to the surface of the rotor quickly especially if you're hammering on them on the track.

I must have been extremely lucky cause mine went in easily and I did it myself. Took a bit of fanangling to get the passenger side out. Only real issue I had was getting both of the the round tabs back in the slots. A few minutes with the die grinder took care of that.
Pretty sure the lack of a return line is a non-issue. All it does is boost the voltage going to your fuel pump. You have to wire it inline with the 12v wire going to your pump. Not sure how a Gen1 is wired but on my Gen2, I wired it in the hatch area where the fuse/relay block is.
