    Interesting noise I heard today

I'd say that's 95% sure to be the U-Joints. That's the classic sign of them going bad...

    Interesting noise I heard today

What he said. Also check to see if your U-Joints are going out. How many miles on the car? One way to see if it's the U-Joints is to gently try to move forward with the e-brake on, hear it 'ping' and then gently try to go in reverse. If you hear it "ping" or "pop" once in each direction, it's...

Is power steering coverd under 7/70

When you say "he mentioned", which "he" are you referring to? I read through the original poster's posts, and he never mentioned anything but "7/70". Someone else said that the "7/70 powertrain" wouldn't cover it, but it wasn't at all clear that the original poster has that warranty. The 7/70...

Is power steering coverd under 7/70

Which 7/70 did you get? If you got the Max Care, it should be covered.

Is it wrong to ask a seller to bring his car to me for a PPI

If someone asked me to do that, I'd counter with asking them to hire a Viper tech to drive six hours round-trip to come to my place and check the car out. If they're that serious about buying the car, that shouldn't be a problem for them... Is the seller a VCA member? If so, you can probably...

Header Install - Heat Shield Question??

Dan's got a good point about the visual inspection... That got me thinking - do the ugly heat shields fit the Gen IV cars? If they do, that might make it easier for me to make the decision to install headers :) I've been through hell with smog check issues, and I want to stack the cards in...

    Financing a Viper Purchase

While I'd normally agree with paying cash or not buying at all, if you have to have an expensive toy in this economy, and you can get it financed, that's probably a good move. Say you lose your job and you have money saved up that you would have otherwise used to pay cash for an expensive toy...

ACR going to be in a photo shoot - need to make it look nice :)

I don't use Dawn more than once on a car - and only to make sure the old wax and any greasy contaminants are off of it before I put a fresh polish on. Definitely not in my semi-yearly wash/wax habit :)

ACR going to be in a photo shoot - need to make it look nice :)

Yeah, I read a lot of the posts on detailing :) When I bought the car, I made sure the dealer didn't touch it - the first thing I did when getting it home was to wash it twice (once with Dawn, once with Zaino car wash), clayed the whole thing, and then applied a few coats of Zaino Z-2. I only...

ACR going to be in a photo shoot - need to make it look nice :)

I'm not the type that goes over the top to keep my cars spotless, but I do like to keep them clean and looking good. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to have my '09 ACR (GTS Blue w/ black centerband) featured in a photo shoot, and I'd like to get it looking as good as possible without...

2008 SES Check Engine Light Experts HELP!!!

On every chrysler product I've owned, I've been able to read the codes by doing the key-on-key-off-three-times thing. The codes will show up in the digital odometer reading. To be honest, I haven't tried it in the ACR yet, but I'll bet that it works... The nice thing about doing that is it...

    car running sluggish, help.

You mean the smoke coming off of the exhaust manifolds? That could be the unburned fuel getting thrown into the exhaust manifolds and burning there since you were wide open. If the gas doesn't have time to burn up in the cylinders, it's going to burn wherever it can. With the throttle plates...

    New Headers

Hi Toddy - Any chance you guys are going to get your headers CARB certified? For those of us who live in CA (lots of us), and for those who live in states that will be adopting CA's Nazi smog rules soon, installing non-compliant headers can be a giant liability. At a bare minimum, it's a huge...

    Buyers BEWARE of this CAR

What doesn't add up to me is why anyone would purposely hide the fact that warranty work was done on a car. That doesn't quite make sense to me, and I don't know why anyone would bother to try and hide it. Also, why try to hide an Arrow engine rebuild? To be honest, I'd be a bit psyched if my...

Smog questions for Gen 4's...Tuners what do you think?

A good way to go about it is to ask around in your local region to see who's had good experience with a smog shop. Some of the shops are better than others, and if a shop has just been hit with a fine for passing someone, you obviously want to stay away from that one. Also, if they've never seen...

Smog questions for Gen 4's...Tuners what do you think?

If you can get it to pass with headers, let me know where you went :) You might get lucky and they won't look too carefully, but I just got done having a long talk with a smog tech and they're under a lot of pressure right now to make sure they don't miss anything. CA is sending undercover...

    Buyers BEWARE of this CAR

One of these days, cars sold by the regulars on this board will carry a premium because most people don't want to have their reputation shot to hell over a car. I know that if I was selling a car and advertised it here, I sure as heck would be over-honest about it. A couple bucks just isn't...

Smog questions for Gen 4's...Tuners what do you think?

Nah - you'll be fine. Even with one cat, the exhaust coming out of the car will probably be cleaner than what is going into your intake (if I remember Vacaville during the summer properly :) ). To play it safe, drive the car up and down I-80 in third gear for a few miles before doing the test...

    car running sluggish, help.

If the problem is indeed with the cats, yes - it won't get any better. It's also not a good idea to drive it with what amounts to a potato stuck in the tailpipe. That pushes the car way outside of its fuel mapping, and all you're doing is dumping fuel into the cylinders that can't burn. But...

    car running sluggish, help.

Generally, if it's clogged, it's because it isn't able to burn off the hydrocarbons anymore. So, it just keeps getting more and more clogged. If it isn't burning off the gunk, it isn't getting hot - so you have little to worry about in that regard.

Smog questions for Gen 4's...Tuners what do you think?

No difference at all with different octane ratings. As long as you have cats on the car, your Gen 4 will pass the sniff test without a problem. It's the visual that kills most of us here in CA. If you have headers, you have about a 95% chance of being screwed. There aren't any CARB certified...

    2" Seat Lowering Kit Installation

When I put my 2" kit on my '09, I didn't notice the seat going forward much at all. In fact, with the seat rake set at a comfortable position, the seat back is up against the back wall. I'm 6'3" and with the 2" kit, the seat position feels like it was tailor made just for me - it's 100%...
