    Header gasket maybe?

I agree on the vaccuum leak. Best thing to do is go around and try to pinpoint where it is coming from. Vaccuum leaks are high-frequency, so they're pretty easy to pinpoint. Chances are it's a hose with a crack in it someplace.

    08 Mopar ECU controller

If they hook into your OBD port to download codes, etc., you probably won't pass. I'm 99% sure that's the case in California. If they just do a tailpipe check, you should be fine.

    car running sluggish, help.

First check your Throttle Position Sensor - the car might not think it's at WOT even though it is. Also consider that your cats may indeed be plugged. All in all, those are pretty easy things to fix. With some diagnostic equipment, you can check the TPS functionality - or just bring it in to...

    Roe Power Steering Pulley Question

I'm really surprised that they didn't do a recall on the whole power steering assembly. Just about everyone I know who owns an early Gen II has had the pulley break and the reservoir cap fly off at least once. Either one of those failures is obviously a safety hazard. Losing your steering...

    car running sluggish, help.

The oil should be fine - in fact, if they put 5w-40 in it, you probably got Mobil 1 diesel truck oil, which in my opinion is a heck of a lot better than the standard 10w-30. Now, regarding the performance issues. Are you only experiencing the issue at WOT? What if you do a few run-ups with...

Viper ACR Pace Car "Wins" NASCAR Touring Event!

Very cool! Your car has racing heritage now :) Definitely keep that DVD stored with all your other records of the car.

looking for cars for model pictures.

I think the way you wrote the original post could certainly get people thinking about what they're getting themselves into... I mean, when I see "old neighbor" and "owns a mustang" in the same sentence, the first thing that comes to mind is the crazy cat lady that lives up the street from me...

    anyone got some h-spokes

I saw a good deal on some at Vipercarpartsofamerica.com - but they were already mounted with PS2's, so that might not be what you're looking for.

Any suggests for escrow service to sell Viper to a European?

I'm surprised that someone buying a car from overseas would agree to do it without coming over here and making sure that their car is all sorted out, etc., before starting the delivery process. I always envisioned these kinds of deals working so that the buyer comes over here, inspects the car...

Ahha! No hot air because core was bypassed, but why?

It's actually not that bad - but it does take some time. I think I posted the general steps a few days ago, so if you search for them, that should give you an idea of what's involved. If you work non-stop, you can probably get it done in two or three hours - but if you're like me and you get...

Ahha! No hot air because core was bypassed, but why?

Something's fishy... First of all, that bypass job was done by a redneck plumbing school dropout (sorry if I offended any friends who didn't make the cut in plumbing collige...). You could run it for a while with hoses attached, but my guess is that you'll find (at the least convenient time)...

    Stone chips and PS 2's

One thing that I've noticed is the paint on my old '97 GTS is a hundred times more chip resistant than the paint on my '09 ACR. I've driven my '97 for almost 14 years now, and I don't have a single stone chip on it. My ACR paint has a few chips already, and I haven't been driving my ACR...

Frequent transmission failure and pedal adjustment

Just for giggles, I went out to see if the clutch travel might be limited by the floorboard when the pedals are in the full-back position, and it seems like there is plenty of clearance on both the GTS and the '09 ACR. About the only thing that I could think of happening is the clutch travel...

Frequent transmission failure and pedal adjustment

I'm also interested in hearing what model year cars you're referring to - and most importantly what kinds of failures you're seeing.

Possible to put my ACR KWs on my GTS?

I'm thinking about ditching the KW shocks on my ACR in favor of some Motons, and then putting the KWs onto my GTS (whose Konis are starting to get long in the tooth). Yes, Phil, I did do a search :) Maybe not a really great search, because I still didn't see any info on this. Anyone know if...

    Lose clutch after long drive.

The same thing has been happening to my ACR - I'll lose the clutch and then have to pump the pedal like crazy to get it back. The fluid looked a little low when I first checked it, but after topping it off, it's stayed full. I think it just needs to be bled with DOT 4 - and it's probably got...

97 GTS keeps throwing serp. belt ???

Do you have a new PS pulley on it - or is it stock? The stock PS pulley has a tendency to break right at the center, and the first sign of it getting ready to totally go is either a chronic loss of power steering, or a serpentine belt that flies off. The pulley can fail in a mode where it...

    broken cam sensor pieces

If you don't see the pieces in the pan, then they probably haven't made it down there yet. They're probably stuck someplace around the timing chain. That's a good time to pull the timing chain cover and replace the gasket anyhow. That gasket is eventually going to go bad, so you may as well...

    Coolant type

Main thing to remember is if you have the green stuff already in the car, it's easy to refill it with the green stuff. If you switch to the orange stuff (better in my opinion), you need to flush out the system REALLY well. When I switch cars over to the Dexcool type of coolant (orange), I...

    They totaled my Viper today

If that page went down that fast, they're obviously paying attention to this and know they're about to be in a fight... Hopefully someone did save a copy of that. It sure looks 'fishy' that someone would post first-hand details of the situation and then those details were wiped clean. I...

What oil are you using in your Gen 4?

Subscribe to the Advance Auto Parts spam list, and they often send out really good deals. They had a deal a while back where you would get five quarts of Mobil One and a Mobil One filter for (I think) $24.99 with free delivery on orders that met a certain dollar amount. On top of that, they...

    J status remind me

Usually that's about a week or two from being all done and ready to get shipped. From there, though, it's anyone's guess. My car was totally done, sitting back at CAAP, and didn't get shipped for three months... It took a bunch of calls to get them to send it out - apparently they don't want...

    They totaled my Viper today

In cases like this, hopefully you had someone else do all the labor on the mods for you. It's a lot easier to monetize the value of the mods when you have receipts on hand... I know I went through hell in a situation where I had to have something replaced and I did all the work on it myself...

    They totaled my Viper today

I would start calling lawyers to get one lined up in case they don't offer to give you what you're entitled. Sounds like their actions are clearly into the negligent range - you told them not to drive it, someone else told them not to drive it, and they put someone behind the wheel who clearly...
