    What can be the problem???

That could be several things and may or may not be related. Usually a sound like that is related to the rear end - but if your fuel pump is starting to go out, it could be related to that.

    SRT-6 Caravan?

I know - when I saw it and also knew your post was out there, I chuckled a bit. The writer has some good points, but some of it is a bit over the top. I personally don't think there's any room in the world for minivans - my parents brought us up just fine with a station wagon, and there are...

Looking to buy a 96 or 97 b&w under 40k any out there?

There are cars out there, but limiting yourself to under $40k definitely narrows your choices. Really nice ones with no stories can be found in the $45k range, but when you get under $40k, you've got to be really careful. There are some good high-mile cars out there in that range, and there...

    What can be the problem???

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge that you can hook to the fuel rail? That sounds a lot like either a bad fuel pump or a bad regulator. If it keeps doing it, the dealer will at least be able to reproduce it easily. Having a warranty really is a nice thing.

    Weird noise?

If it's happening at the same engine speed irrespective of the gear your in, and doesn't happen unless you're in gear, you can pretty much limit the possible causes to the input shaft of the tranny forward. Since it only happens when you're in gear, you may have a broken tooth or bearing going...

    What price?

I agree with Bill on the future pricing - especially for the older cars. The new cars are all in the $90k to $100k+ range, so even if there's still Gen IV dealer inventory a few months from now, with the Viper going on hiatus for a while, I think there will be a good market for the older used...

    battery? alternator? fuel pump?

Unless you're running a sound system at full blast with a 2000 watt amp, you shouldn't notice your electricals flickering too much when the sound is up... At low RPMs, your alternator is doing very little, so you're relying on your battery for most of the electrical load. Does the flickering...

security system draw on electrical system

If you leave your alarm in "armed" mode, it will drain the battery pretty quick. Four or five days seems like an extremely short amount of time to me, but it might just be doing it's thing. Before digging too deep into it, you should try a battery tender to keep the battery topped off. What...

    NEW Optima Battery

I wouldn't count them completely out - and if you can still get the Viper Club Optima discount (great deal) you can get a Yellow Top for $115, including shipping. If it craps out on you, just call Optima and they'll send you a fresh one with no questions asked. I'm sure some people have had...

Maybe a dumb question, but was the new dealer-supplied one covered under warranty?

    ACR aero upgrades?

Other than the front splitter extending quite a bit underneath the nose of the car, there's nothing that I know of underneath the car that's any different than a standard car. Of course, you have some adjustment capabilities in the suspension that can alter the aerodynamics, but that's about...

'09 ACR - Lost my clutch today...

I'm hoping it's just some air bubbles - that's what it feels like. Ever since the first time I drove the car, I thought the clutch had the worst feel of any car I've ever owned - seems like it engages at the wrong region of the pedal travel. That, combined with the electronic throttle control...

fuelman's 2008 Viper ACR Full Paint Correction.

Looks really nice. I'm starting to think I need to give in and just have my car done right. After a weekend of driving, I was washing it and noticed that it's got some spiderweb that are starting to drive me crazy. I hate the thought of taking some of the clearcoat off to get the spiderwebs...

Best Gen II 3 inch exhaust system

My Borla only drones in one low RPM range, and fortunately that's a range that I hardly ever drive at. It definitely has something to do with the dimensions of the car's interior (and especially under the rear glass). You hit a certain resonant frequency and things definitely start to rumble...

Best Gen II 3 inch exhaust system

I've heard the Corsa on a Gen II and it sounds nice - especially with high-flow cats. I have a Borla (old design) on my GTS and I really like the sound. Best thing to do would be to try and attend a meeting where enough people with different setups show up and you can listen to them all.

    Optima Battery - Why?

The main reason I tried an Optima in the first place was that the stock battery leaked all over the place during hard driving. On my GTS, the battery tray was corroded after six months of ownership... I switched to the Optima mostly for that reason, and it's been great for the most part. I...

    Jack points (pic)??

Looks like you got it right - I did the exact same thing. I had four spare jacks around and I use those for my own mini-lift to bring the car up about a foot over stock height when I need to get underneath.

'09 ACR - Lost my clutch today...

Popped the hood, got under the car, and looked around. Everything is dry. I'm pretty sure it's one of those 'new car' gremlins that seem to happen during the first few thousand miles :) I'm still going to try and get it bled out because it was enough of a pain to drive around with no clutch...

'09 ACR - Lost my clutch today...

I "think" the slave is still OK and this is just some entrained air in the system... I'm definitely going to make a Dr. appt. for the car and have them take a looksee, but from what I can gather at this point, everything seems to be working OK. Normally, when someone would have complained...

'09 ACR - Lost my clutch today...

I remember other people complaining about losing their clutches on '09 cars, and you can add me to the list... I was out driving through the mountains and having some fun, and all of a sudden my clutch pedal went limper than a 90 year old after a few too many drinks (sans Viagra I might...

    what is it?

It's a little hard to tell from the picture since it's a little blurry, but that looks like a control cable. Can you move/pull the smaller circular 'button' on the end of the cable? What it looks like is a remote trunk release - basically a cable within a cable. Again, it's hard to tell...

    K&N HP-2010 Oil Filter & Lifter Question

I think the SRT filter is the best filter to use, and it's about the same price as the K&N, so may as well just go with that.

    Swirls/Spider Webs in Paint?

If the swirls and spiders are really fine and not deep, there are some products out there that will minimize them after a few coats. I tend to avoid machine polishing at all costs - that's the kind of thing I'll do to a car when it's fifteen years old and the paint is damaged enough that some...

    09's making more power?

Pretty cool! I generally don't pay much attention to dyno numbers when trying to figure out a cars actual output. What's interesting is they compared it to a Callaway Vette that is supposed to make over 600 HP and the Viper beat it by 16 HP. Some of these cars have very strong engines in them...
