Great story and a great write up! Congrats on your purchase. It's also good to hear there is more space between the chest and dashboard. That is the #1 contributing factor to my claustrophobia...it feels like your chest is on the dash.
Fixed it for ya.
The time attack edition IMHO is meant to bridge the gap between the new (and much more) extreme ACR (GTS-R?). There APPEARS to be enough demand for a much more radical ACR but if it comes don't expect it to be cheap. I also highly doubt we'll see 700HP any time soon...could be...
Definitely not. It's just a Viper with some track goodies. I highly doubt a racing franchise that slaps a wing and splitter onto a Viper has any insight into future models. If I remember correctly, the ACR was created in record time on a tight budget. Now that SRT has some real time to develop...
Let's just hope SRT does the right thing and gives it more of a GTS-R appeal. Some fender bulges, vents on each side of the tail lights, etc. We already know the next gen Z06 and ZR1 are going to have this treatment, so there is no excuse.
I think the red looks great with the all black exterior.
I'm hopeful that SRT will step up and offer equivalent matching interiors for all exterior colors. We've seen with the Stryker Red that people will pay seemingly absurd prices to have the car the way they want (which is a good thing)...
I listened to years of wisdom before getting married. What I gathered and what's lead to my success (in marriage), is NEVER OPEN THE DOOR. Set your boundaries, albeit reasonable, and keep them at all cost. Know and know well what you will and won't be flexible on. Wives will launch attacks to...
Agreed with the max market of 1200 cars per year. The issues been beat and I don't enjoy stirring the pot any longer...but without something to blow people out of the water such as 700+HP, etc. at launch I don't see the Viper picking up much market share. It should still outsell the Gen III/IV...
I'm still gonna have to judge for myself. At 6'6" 270 (athletic) the Gen III felt like a coffin to me. Never owned a gen III but borrowed my old man's frequently and it took me at least 10 minutes to calm down from the claustrophobia. The Gen II GTS was tight but manageable. I've been holding...
Imagine the hilarious backlash from using "Assassin" in the name. I can hear it now. "SRT Promotes Violence Through New 'Assassin' Viper" .... "Gilles Apologizes for Hate Inspired Viper" LOL
Neither are supercars, let's get that out of the way. New Viper is light years ahead of the Gen III/IV but it is nowhere near the fit and finish of the 458, let alone the SLS. On the other hand from what I've heard the Stryker Red is up there with a Ferrari/Lambo paint job. Ferrari's and...

Is this the car from the race???
I still don't understand why SRT would have another ugly line cutting into the body...They did it with the SRT coupe and it looked terrible. Glass should have been done same as old GTS. If all of the exotics and supercars can have glass engine bonnets, I don't see why SRT couldn't have...
Thanks for the tip! I was set on Tomball for a 2014 SRT Jeep. Change of plans.
BTW I completely agree with the free market argument, I'm just exercising my right to buy elsewhere.
