That's insanely fast for the McLaren. I love that their entry level exotic (MP4-12C) is turning times like that WITH rear wheel drive. I imagine their upcoming supercar (P1) will have trouble beating that in a straight line.
It'll take some time to see what the Viper is truly capable of, but...
It may be too early for this, or if I missed a thread like this please delete it. Otherwise, post pics and places where Gen Vs are spotted.
I saw my first on Friday morning in Houston on the West Park Tollway. I was headed out of town, it was a launch edition headed in. It happened too quick...
I love it. Props to SRT for making this happen, quickly.
What I like about the Vette is the hips stick out further in proportion to the door. The door tucks in. It gives the vette a more aggressive road presence. It looks goofy when the front is almost as wide as the back.
Hopefully it's a factory sponsored dealer installed option, instead of standard production equipment. I don't want to see SRT take the factory FI route for future HP increases. IMHO, the idea behind an 8.4L engine is not needing FI. Let the vette use it. I'd rather have less HP and NA, from the...
It doesn't need to but that would be great! The Viper has a history of slaying supercars on the track, so I'd like to see it continue. However, I won't be down on SRT or Ralph if they don't beat the 7 minute mark. Just shatter the 'old' ACR record and I'll be happy.
BTW, what is a hypercar? Is...
Thank you for listening SRT!!!!
This also allows for an insane GTS-R-esque ACR at a much higher price point. I see it coming. Very excited about the TA-special and very excited about the ACR in a couple of years.
SRT does need some recognition, and so do the so called "trolls" and "naysayers" on this site for raising the alarm and getting SRT serious about making it right. Fortunately, SRT listened, Ralph listened, and they've made headway in record time. Kudos to Ralph and team SRT. Thank you for...
Yup. he also said that the Viper could not be any wider as that would be illegal...So I guess the LaFerrari, Hyuara, Aventador, are all illegal. With all due respect to Ralph and his work, I'll take his rumor squashing with a grain of salt. Conventional wisdom says otherwise. Do people really...

Back on topic, Ferrari (FIAT) is definitely holding the Viper back.
And you are completely delusional. The Gen I/II Viper appealed to all. The vast majority of the public forgot the Viper even existed during the SRT-10 years, that was until the ACR was released. The amount of attention, love, and questions I got in a 98' GTS in 1998 was 100X the amount I...
The Gen IV didn't sell because it was a terribly boring design. There is no wow factor when seeing it on the road. The coupe had some Frankenstein rear with huge body gaps for this awkward trunk, no sense of design, straight/flat sides...the only people who loved it were Viper enthusiast. It...
Please no factory forced induction for the Viper. That completely defeats the purpose of a ludicrous 8.4 V-10. You shouldn't need FI from the factory. If Fiat wanted the Viper to compete, they'd have it compete with 700NA HP. I'll take 700NA HP over 750FI (or even 800) any day of the week. It...
Ralph misled IMO. "Plenty" of cars 4" wider or more than the GTS coming out soon. GTS-R is around 6" wider if my memory serves me correct. I'm cool with an extra 2" on each side.
It seems like they get it, sort of:
"Krugger:
"The vehicle getting wider is never a bad thing. We knew that we...
The legacy that Lutz built. I'm tired of ragging on the Viper so I'll keep it brief. The bean counters at Fiat (don't forget they own Ferrari) are more interested in a mega profitable car than a mega-halo car to promote the brand. You all in the know can tell me to you are blue in the face that...
