I dont know about that, the C4 ZR1 handed the gen 1 vipers there asses in every measure of performance. Faster, stopped better, way higher top speed, handled better but it did cost more then the viper.
In 1996 the gen 2's changed all of that, but there was no 1996 ZR1.
I love vipers, but...
I have one in my car and it holds 909 rwhp just fine. And drives like a stock clutch. The down side is at high RPM it seems to "drag" a little and cause it to be hard to shift FAST (like drag racing power shifting) at high RPM. At lo RPM it's fine. If you just do hot street driving you will...
Cool, make sure to let us know how much boost/power you get from that crank pulley! I'm on the edge of my seat. I'm at 909 rwhp now with the 3" pulley on my striker heads/cam gen 2 I want to get that "1000" rwhp
I too am running a 3" pulley on a paxton car (gen 2), let us know were you get it from and how the overdrive crank pulley works out. I'm really wanting to do this as a next step too.
I would shave the heads to getting it up around 10.5 or even 11 to 1 static will help power allot, that cam is going to drop your dynamic compression allot. My Striker heads/cam car is 11.1 to 1 static it made 612 rwhp all motor on a 488cid gen 2 with a much smaller cam at 236/238 .600 lift...
Ya, IF they would release the code for the ECU allowing a company like Paxton to sell a blower kit for the car it would be a winner for people like me that want big HP. Add 8-9psi to that 640hp and you have 1000hp. And have a car that dtill drives and idles like stock till you put the hammer down.
That's frighting, you have to worry about anybody that would port a set of V10 heads for $600. Less it's your brother or something your not going to get much of a port job for that kind of money.
I tell you what I would love to see a gen 3 with a big cam and a max ported set of gen 4 heads would do. Seeing how Greg has gotten gen 4's to make mid 600's with a stock cam and a ECU that cant be tuned.
Could we see 700+ N/A RWHP?
Because I have STRIKER heads not ported stock castings
Because the Striker heads are totally different head castings. Not a gen2 stock casting that starts out flowing 220 cfm then get ported, they flow 330 cfm the way you take them out of the box. And there is more to it then flow numbers too...
