my 2001 feels the Exact same way, I'm running EBC red stuff pads if I remember right ( I wanted pads with very little dust and no noise) . my F350 powerstroke with 40" tires on it and stock brakes stops better then my viper does. I think I'm going to go back to stock pads less sombody els has a...
Realy? Gen 2's? with the stock 488 cid? Must be one hell of a big cam in there. You have some dyno charts for this? I would love to see it, I was not aware of any stock head casting heads/cam gen 2's going over 600whp.
I have the Striker street heads shaved to get me 11.1 to 1 comp with the gen 3 head gaskets, and the cam is 236/238 @0.050" and .600 lift. You can get into the mid to high 500's with porting the stock heads also depending on what cam you go with.
When I did the heads/cam I had no plans on ever doing a blower on it. The car was a blast to drive with 612 rwhp, it ran 10.71@130 mph in Roswell at 3600ft Altitude with heads/cam. The instant throttle response with the high CR and heads/cam makes the car very fun to drive. And it just made it...
Once the Gen 4's are into the 50's thats going to be one hell of allot of performance for the money. I have a highly modded gen 2, but I want a gen 4 to park next to it. Once they are in the 50's I dont think I will be able to stop my self from buying one. I Expect it's going to be another yr...
I would do the Heads/Cam first, Stock motor paxton cars are lazy down lo. Then after you get use to the power and want more then throw the Paxton on. My 2001 was a heads/cam car for yrs making 612 rwhp for yrs befor I put the Paxton on it, now it's making 909 rwhp still on the stock bottom end...
No, Still running the Stock Cast pistons.
Ya shaving your heads would give you some power for sure, but if you just wanted to add some CR a simply way going to gen 3 or now the even thinner Gen 4 head Gaskets (there was no such thing as a gen 4 when I did the heads/cam on mine or I would have...
it ran 10.71@130 with the heads/cam set-up
It ran 10.75@136 with the NOS (lol bit of tire spin, 19" street tires) Only got that one pass on the NOS the next pass it cleaned the teeth off the input shaft gear and the cluster gear in the tranz. That was about 2 yrs ago, I then installed a built...
This motor has talken quite a beating so I really dont know. It was heads/cam for a few yrs, then I put NOS on it and it made 736 rwhp on the NOS and I ran quite a few bottles threw it, but then I wanted the power all the time so I pulled off the NOS last yr and put on the Paxton. It spent...
Here is a vid I shot a wile back, this is before I had the Blower on the car, but the car sounds the same at idle now (same cam). The car is much louder at WOT now but I dont think I have a vid of the car at WOT.

Well I installed the 3" pulley on my Striker heads/cam/paxton car
Background the car is a Stock bottom end 2001 with Shaved Striker street heads with gen 3 head gaskets giving it 11.1 to 1 comp. The cam if I remember right was 236/238 @0.050 and .600 lift. I did the heads/cam on this car about...
Tire shops have learned there lesson, thy charge now in most places based on there risk factor. The more Expensive a wheel is the more they charge to mount tires on them in case the wheel gets damaged and they have to replace it. Last set of tires I had mounted and balanced on my Fiske FM5's...
Mustangs are like supra's, cant ever loose a race. The Mayans have a mustang vs supra race on the calendar here in 2012, and if you have seen the movie you know how it's going to end......
That just depends on how much boost you are planning on running.
I'm a firm believer in making the motor make power first then add boost as icing on the cake. I really dont like the way stock heads/cam paxton cars feel down low. They feel like a stock car till you get the RPM's up. If I was...
That's a grate color, my 1st viper was a 2000 Steel gray with stripes ACR. I would like to get another one some day just like it and just do a mild heads/cam build on it and park it next to my Paxton car.
