A friend of mine and me, we changed the broken/spinning pulley on his 97 in the middle of nowhere (upper Michigan) with almost no tools - luckily a fellow Viper brother had a spare one (pulley) in the trunk - it can be done!
:drive:
This is a common issue.
Overheating can compromise the engine, yes.
The cylinder head can be damaged too...
You start the engine without the belt? Not a good idea!!!
Since you have no idea about cars I recommend a good Viper mechanic like CHUCK TATOR.
:eater:
Oh, and I hope that I can watch the humiliation of the Vette LIVE this June - fingers crossed, since it will be the first year for a totally new car :D
Read the book about the Gen-5 and you will know that there were no 4 years to develop the car!
At best 1 year for the engine, e.g.
PUT non-run-craps on the car and it will move (Le Mans 24h = Michelin tyres!)...:drive:
DOHC and more valves involves more rotating/moving parts...way to complex (for me) and heavy for a 8.4 L V10.
Guess where the power comes from for moving/reciprocating all the add. parts?
You will have a hard time finding a room nearby for a good price.
We had a hard time finding a room 6 months ago!
Good luck. Some B+B's might still be open within 30-40 miles range...
I must have been to the museum at least 10 times - from Germany. Over the last 10 years.
Do I get a VIP museum (closed) sticker now?
:D
What a shame, if it gets closed. Well, the Ford museum is not that far away and worth a visit too :drive:
it is even easier when you put it on top of the windshield frame and the sportsbar when unfolding the sidebars....once assembled turn it upside down - voila!
Did it 1000 times on my RT/10 (till the a**hole crashed the car!) and it is just a matter of practise.
