Pictures from Auto Vino, our first meeting of 2012

The Northern California chapter kicked off the new year in a terrific place, Auto Vino. Auto Vino is a unique place where they combine two passions under one roof, the love of cars and of wine. Here are some pictures of the cars stored there. Only one viper....

Let's get an odometer reading from everyone

Bought it (96GTS) with 15100 in March of 2007. As of last night, 66560. That is roughly 10K per year!

    Which intake system?

Thanks Dan, for this information! I knew that Chrysler upped the rated HP from 450 to 460 on the GT2's that came this way from the factory, but, it is nice to know the real numbers the upgrade provided.

    Which Water Pump to use

Hood on, Hood off, it doesn't matter, either way is doable. If you have the room and the second person, it is such a simple task to remove the hood and reveal the entire engine compartment. It greatly simplifies the task at hand without the obligatory bowing and ducking to go through the wheel...

    Which Water Pump to use

I think that you are right about all the pumps being the same except the dodge part. With Rocky helping, the job should be quite easy. The only thing that can give you problems are removing the old gasket material, finding the right moves to drop the unbolted water pump below the cross member...

    Which Water Pump to use

John, Take the hood off, It makes it so much easier. Your back will thank you later. I am sure Nikki will let you put hood in the house while you are working on the pump...:) The AC Delco unit does not have a metal impeller. It is plastic like all of the rest. The casting is a knock off of...

    2012 Viper Calendars

Mine is in the October shot of the White Edition (nice version). It could have made the Black Edition (not too naughty version) if the West Coast Viper Twins could have made it that day. My Viper was used the time when the East Coast Viper Twins were out here about 3 months before I purchased...

Factory Red Leather Steering Wheel, Shifter and Brake Handle in GTS?

I believe those parts are from a 96 Ketchup and Mustard RT/10. With the exception of the Cognac interior, I think the only time the GTS interior color accents deviated from black were the blue steering wheel, shift knob and brake lever on the GT2.

The sure way to guarantee that you find the second one is to buy the third one. As soon as you buy it, the second will miraculously appear!

1997 gts lack of power sometimes

Not sure what the problem is but I would also check the intake manifold screws/bolts. Mine loosened up on me a just about drove me crazy tracking down the problem. The hotter the ambient temp the worse the engine would run.

    dawn soap and clay bar

Works with Zaino's Show Car Wash as well. That is what Zaino recommends with their clay bar. It will not strip the wax.

Its only a matter of time before this is done to a Viper

Normally Aspirated power upgrade on a Gen 2 (96)

This thread is very informative. It also piqued my curiosity about fasteners. I found this article after a quick search. Head Bolts vs. Head Studs Choosing whether to use head bolts or head studs in an automobile engine can be an important decision that affects the way a car runs. While...
