What percentage of Viper owners track there cars?

I did about 30 trackdays (road racing) with my '94 RT/10. But I became faster and faster and took more risk on the track. I don't have the money to just buy a new one when I would crash it, so these days I do trackdays with a track prepped BMW M3 e36.

Gen1 Le Mans Viper at Dutch Event.

The cars were bright red and bright yellow. The paint is faded in the years. The problem would be the money...I've asked the new owner how much he paid for it, but he wouldn't tell me, except it was cheap (for a racecar driven on Le Mans). I would like to have a GTS as trackcar, like Chuck...

Gen1 Le Mans Viper at Dutch Event.

It was great to win the race, it was even my first real race. After 3 years of doing trackdays with my RT/10 ('94 with Eibach, Stoptech en Kumho's) , I bought a standard BMW M3, for trackdays only, to preserve the Viper. The standard M3 was a horrible car on the track, understeer all the way...

Gen1 Le Mans Viper at Dutch Event.

Rent a Car was the official sponsor for the Viper at Le Mans in "94. The car is still in it's original paint, so it looks a bit fuzzy. ViperArry, you can visit the car in Soest.

Gen1 Le Mans Viper at Dutch Event.

The owner told me it was a "barn find". He wasn't for sure if it was the real LM car, but he gather more info and it was a real LM Viper. The things I most remembered from seeing it in person: *Only the hood and front fasia are made from lightweight material, all other body parts are OEM. *It...

Gen1 Le Mans Viper at Dutch Event.

Last Sunday there was a Time Attack event on the racetrack of Zandvoort. One of the contenders was driving a Viper, witch was the first Viper ever driven on Le Mans. He was driving the car in the Pro Non Street, but his time in Warm-up and wasn't that good, 2:00.222 min. Average speed 128.971...

Whats the fastest youve gone in your Viper?

182 MPH (290 KMH) on the German Autobahn. The hardtop was on and it could go a little faster, but the front felt very light, so I slowed down. In this VIDEO I went about 160 MPH, but it was the same day.

I would like to do that... and drive it. Was it from a Dutch autosport team?

    Brakes feedback

I've got Mov'it brakes on my BMW M3. They look exactly the same as a Stoptech caliper, but their pad is a little higher.Their products are not cheap. The same setup from Stoptech would be 30% cheaper for the M3. The caliper on the pic on their website is a monblock, so they are very expensive.

    In Car Cameras

I recently bought a bulletcam and a SD camcorder. The camcorder is very small, like 4"x3"x1" and very light. Recording quality: 640X480 (30Fps) MPEG-4. HERE you can see a pic. The site is in Dutch.

Top Gear Video SRT10-C vs BMW Z4M

Well, I'm probably the only one who likes the video. Now when I'm tracking my old RT/10 (which must be a very bad handling car...)on a road race course and I'm lapping a M3, Z4M or other superb BMW, then I must be a h#ll of a driver and when they pass me...hey I'm just driving a slow Viper.

The Biggest Viper Myth: The Viper Handling myth

Was your Camaro an automatic? The engine from the Viper will work like an ebrake when you let of the gas, so when your car is slipping and then let off the gas, it will be difficult to control the car.

The Biggest Viper Myth: The Viper Handling myth

That's what I like about tracking the Viper, if you go fast with it, then you know how to drive it! :headbang:

The Biggest Viper Myth: The Viper Handling myth

The "problem" of the Viper is, it have a very smal slip angle, when the car goes side ways it can't go to far or you will spin.

The Biggest Viper Myth: The Viper Handling myth

What do you think the people at the other side of the ocean will be hearing all the time. In Europe most guys think that every American verhicle can only drive in a straight line, also a Viper. I use my Viper a lot on trackdays (road racing) and drive often against porsches like 996 turbo and...

Which aspect of the Viper design element DON'T you like the most?

Re: Which aspect of the Viper design element DON\'T you like the most? The hubs, aftermarket wheels would be much cheaper. The cheap looking plastic dash.
